今年是Tosee Art首次參展whatz香港藝術博覽會－在這個東西文化交融逾百年的城市，本次展覽匯集了四位根植於不同文化土壤的藝術家：台灣的許銘仁和蔡宜儒，日本的廣野毅志，以及美國的丹尼爾·迪亞茲。他們以紙張作為媒介和靈感的精妙運用，編織出一幅兼具東方禪意與西方當代藝術活力的美學畫卷，引領觀者進入寧靜祥和的精神殿堂。
我們誠摯邀請您蒞臨優雅的港麗酒店，一同感受紙張孕育的柔美力量，Tosee Art期待您的到來，共同分享東方與當代世界在靜謐中交織的詩意之美。

This year marks Tosee Art’s inaugural participation in the Hong Kong Conrad Hotel Art Fair—a fitting stage in a city where East and West have intertwined over a century. Here, we present a transcendent feast where soul and vision meld, a dialogue bridging cultural horizons.

Our exhibition gathers four artists rooted in distinct cultural soils: Taiwan’s Hsu Ming-jen and Tsai Yi-ju, Japan’s Takeshi Kono, and America’s Daniel Diaz. United by their delicate mastery of paper as both medium and muse, they weave an aesthetic tapestry that embodies the gentle mystique of Eastern Zen alongside the crisp vitality of Western contemporary art, inviting viewers into a serene sanctuary of the spirit.

Each work is a poetic condensation of time and space—paper shaped by deft hands into textures soft yet profound, like mist-shrouded mountains at dawn, elusive and breath-stealing. The fragile lightness of the paper converses harmoniously with painstaking layering and subtle brushwork, echoing the Zen notion of selflessness—finding tranquil strength in simplicity.

This exhibition transcends a mere visual feast; it is a pilgrimage of the soul. It beckons us away from worldly chaos into the silent rhythms shared between hand and paper. Eastern Zen aesthetics bloom anew within contemporary art’s language, where ancient wisdom meets modern sensibility, revealing a distinct and inspired artistic ethos.

蔡宜儒
蔡宜儒借用其外在的物象姿態作為內心情感寄託與釋放，依當下直觀的視點配合書法線條、潑墨、大寫意等筆法融合抽象表現形式，在畫面上大膽恣意的書寫揮灑，運用潑、染、拓、抹、刮等綜合手法，營造出過去在傳統水墨宣紙上較難表現的特殊質地，卻又不失水墨淋漓快意的迷人特性。作品取型於盆景樹木，但整體虛實消溶的形象在畫面流動方向的引導下，流露出濃烈的生命力與典雅的氣息共存其中，觸發觀者心理層次的悸動。

Tsai Yi-Ju uses the external posture of objects as a means of sustenance and release of his inner emotions. He combines abstract forms of expression with calligraphy lines, ink splashing, freehand brushwork and other brushwork based on the current intuitive viewpoint. He writes boldly and freely on the canvas, using a combination of techniques such as splashing, dyeing, rubbing, smearing and scraping to create a special texture that was difficult to express on traditional ink and Xuan paper in the past, while retaining the charming characteristics of the ink. The work inspired by bonsai, but the overall image of dissolving reality and illusion, guided by the flow of the picture, reveals a strong vitality and elegant atmosphere coexisting in it, triggering the psychological excitement of the viewer.

無聲的餘燼與再構的白光

許銘仁則以另一種方式再塑紙與纖維的生命力。他將打碎的紙漿如種籽撒入大地，用植物與土地天賦的色彩層層堆疊，噴灑和滴流的技法賦予作品強烈的生機與律動感。每一滴色彩彷彿是從土地深處湧出的生命力，宣告著大地的甦醒與無盡的可能。許銘仁在破碎中尋找完整，以再造書寫自然的詩篇。他的作品像是季節的輪迴，是一首讚美復興與希望的頌歌。正如詩人維吉爾所說：「死亡孕育著新生，春天終將從寒冬中蘇醒。」
