《Inside Out : My Painterly Confessions》

若拋開藝術社會生態常規,藝術能夠讓人獲致什麼?
本質上,透過藝術創作、觀看活動的種種思維辯證,可與多方表裏對話,能培養出人們無為的、回映人生面向的諸多觀視智慧,作為支撐生命內在的航行舵儀。
歷經長久藝術參與工作,意會到藝術生產如同是作者本質的、直言的見解表述。作品類等於作者生活經驗中含蘊意義的節點圖像,回應生命片斷景況,同時也在多元藝術系統中選擇適任適所的領域認同。作品的完成、發表分享及其夾藏旳推衍製作過程,極似面對裁判庭眾,作品的圖像與各層語法,即是庭堂上的供詞紀錄。當然,藝術的對象、理念、方法是隨作者機遇而轉向改變的,必要的翻供是應受到包容接納的。
臺灣變易遷盪的社會環境,影響所及深遠,支配著人們生活、思維、形制…等等各層面向。歷來創作,常聚焦於探索社會環境與個人對辯的現象感受,試圖呈現塵世日常當下的體驗,形作自身複合繪畫圖譜。
畫作持恆偏好要素:漂流遊走生活中的細瑣事件物景的影像、當下拾取的物材、直接書寫的塗鴨眉批。這些日常隨取景象、廢棄工材、現成物件、狂書疊合、點畫眉批,拼貼共構為平行對位的畫面意象,轉化出衝突性、疏離感,意圖背向仕紳美學體制,揭露高低藝階平等意識,進入直觀生活事物景像、藝術本質直言書寫,並與觀讀者互作詰問對話的可能。
「書景形物/供討絮語」歷作選集,是自身關注日常意象擷取、辯證眉批與繪製工法合流的延續過程,玆作為個人創作實踐的絮語供詞。

If we set aside the conventional structures of the art ecosystem, what can art ultimately offer?
At its core, artistic practice and the act of viewing involve ongoing processes of reflection and dialogue. Through these processes, art allows for conversations between inner and outer experiences. It can cultivate a kind of awareness that is not driven by utility, but instead reflects on the many aspects of life, forming an inner sense of direction that supports one’s way of living.
After years of working in the art field, I have come to understand artistic production as a direct expression of the artist’s own perspective. Each artwork can be seen as a point of connection drawn from personal life experiences, responding to particular moments and conditions. At the same time, it also finds its place and identity within broader and more diverse artistic systems.
The process of completing, presenting, and sharing a work, along with the layers of thinking embedded in its making, can be compared to giving testimony. The images within the work, together with their visual structures and layers of language, function as a kind of record. Of course, the subjects, ideas, and methods in art continue to evolve according to each artist’s circumstances and encounters, and revisions or reinterpretations are naturally part of this process.
Taiwan’s constantly changing social environment has had a deep and lasting impact, shaping how people live, think, and form their perspectives. My past works have consistently explored the dialogue between the social environment and personal experiences. By capturing the essence of everyday existence, I aim to construct a composite mapping of my artistic journey.
My work consistently draws from the fragments of a wandering life, glimpses of everyday scenes, materials found in the moment, and raw, handwritten notes. By collaging these daily sights, discarded scraps, found objects, and spontaneous scribbles, I create a layered visual world filled with tension and a sense of detachment. My goal is to move away from 'high-end' traditional aesthetics and show that there is no hierarchy in art. Through this direct way of recording life, I hope to open up a real and questioning conversation with whoever views my work.
“Drawing Images / Inside Out: My Painterly Confessions” is a selected presentation of past works. It continues my ongoing exploration of everyday imagery, critical annotation, and painting methods as an integrated practice. This body of work can be understood as a series of reflections and confessional fragments arising from my creative process.
