菅 祐子 Yuko Kan
1981年出生於京都。畢業於多摩美術大學研究所，主修版畫創作。早期以木版畫為主要創作媒介，透過多樣的版畫技法建立個人獨特的視覺語彙。2016年起開始木雕創作，並隨著對陶作的興趣日益加深，於2020年移居至岐阜縣多治見市，展開以陶土為主要媒材的創作生活。
菅祐子的作品受到墨西哥民間藝術影響，但並非直接套用異文化的紋樣或符號，而是將從其中感受到的生命力、造形與鮮明色彩，轉化為自身內在的創作語言。她的作品看似簡單質樸，卻蘊含了細膩情感與豐富想像；既有容易親近的可愛幽默，也帶著一種難以言說的神性或童話式寓言的味道。作品低調安靜，卻在不經意之間，將我們帶往內心某個深邃而柔軟的角落。
本次為菅祐子在台灣的首次個展，共展出100餘件最新創作。展名「Tell Me a Bedtime Story」如同在邀請觀者走進一個介於現實與夢境之間的世界，展開對未來美好的想望。

Artist Introduction
Yuko Kan
Born in Kyoto in 1981, Yuko Kan studied printmaking at Tama Art University’s graduate school. She began her practice with woodblock printing, later expanding into wooden sculpture and ceramics. As her interest in ceramics deepened, she moved to Tajimi, Gifu, in 2020, where she continues to create works centered around clay.
Kan’s work is influenced by Mexican folk art, not through direct quotation of its patterns or symbols, but through an intuitive transformation of its vitality, forms, and vivid colors into her own creative language. Her works may appear simple and unassuming, yet they are filled with delicate emotion and quiet imagination. They carry a gentle charm and subtle humor, while also evoking something sacred, fable-like, and difficult to put into words.
This marks Yuko Kan’s first solo exhibition in Taiwan, featuring more than 100 of her latest works. The exhibition title, “Tell Me a Bedtime Story,” invites viewers into a world between reality and dreams, opening a quiet hope for a gentler future.
