| Selected for Taipei Fine Arts Museum’s 2027 Solo Exhibition Program
Artist Lo Yi-Chun has been selected for the (TFAM) 2027 Solo Exhibition Program with her proposed project ‘Thread to Thread, Island to Island — The In Between Landscape from Here’.
Known for exploring cultural memory through island flora and natural materials, Lo is a recipient of the Kaohsiung Award First Prize (2015), the Taoyuan Contemporary Art Award First Prize (2017), and the Taipei Art Awards (2021). In this selected project, she takes the geographical context of the "Ryukyu Arc" as a starting point, integrating botanical fibers and artisanal techniques—such as banana peels, banana cloth (bashōfu), and banana fiber threads—to respond to the flowing material and cultural memories shared across Taiwan, Okinawa, and Southern Kyushu.
Through narratives, songs, performative sculptures, and spatial installations, Lo interprets local craftsmanship and bodily experiences within the gallery space, further examining the interwoven connections between the material and the spiritual. This anticipated solo exhibition is scheduled to open on the third floor of TFAM in the second half of 2027.
