《在心底》的線條筆觸靈感，是來自已故藝術家 #温孟瑜 於 2022 年《綠地野餐》（45 x 60 cm, Acrylic on canvas）這件作品，一方面是想要紀念與她認識的時光。另一方面，是在技巧上挑戰自己過去作品中沒有使用過的流動性的線條筆觸。因為要表現這樣的流動狀態時，畫面上的水分控制與乾燥的速率非常重要，只要有一絲的猶疑，就會出現不可逆的痕跡與一開始疊加完成的圖層只能報廢。
2017 年 12 月的尾聲，當時是我到日本京都攻讀博班的初期，也正逢學校年末的寒假，她來找我一起規劃了小小的關西之旅。畫面中的盪鞦韆，是我們到宇治的「源氏物語博物館」參觀時，偶然看到博物館對面有個小公園，公園裡面有盪鞦韆和滑梯，表層用紅．黃．藍點綴，那可愛的模樣，喚起了我們的童心，我們就像小朋友一樣跑到公園內玩了一會。就這樣，可愛的無人公園成為了整趟的宇治之旅最記憶猶新的亮點。這個公園在我今年初回日本散心時，依然的存在著，只是上面當初鮮明的漆斑剝了許多。
温孟瑜與我在 2013 年一同入選新北市新人獎一起到展場佈展而開始熟識。而後，我們一同在藝術創作奮鬥，彼此督促、分享創作，也時常互相支援、佈展；一同說走就走，吃甜點、吃美食⋯。
這一切在 2024 年的年中，按下了暫停鍵，她與病魔奮鬥一年半後在未滿 40 歲的年紀就消逝了，這是我從來沒有想過的事情。千言百語都很難形容我已無語感受，如果說，人一生的友誼中，分別有一個如太陽般的人物，與如月亮般的人物，我想温孟瑜對我來說就是那顆月亮吧，在創作的道路上，她是唯一能即時接住我在創作中各種情緒的人物。所以，我畫下了這件我與她最鮮明的回憶，希望她能在這流動綠色的環抱之中，在天上展露出盪鞦韆時開朗的笑容，延續她的創作心願。

永遠的温孟瑜
The linear brushwork in HUANG Kuan-Chun’s Deep in the Heart draws inspiration from 'Picnic' (2022, 45x60cm, Acrylic on canvas), a painting by the late artist . The work serves a dual purpose: honoring the cherished memory of their shared time and posing a technical challenge to incorporate fluid brushstrokes—a technique unprecedented in Huang’s earlier practice. Executing such fluid states demands critical precision in moisture control and drying speed, where a moment of hesitation leaves irreversible marks that would compromise the underlying layers.
In late December 2017, during the early stages of Huang’s doctoral studies in Kyoto, Japan, Wen visited during the university’s winter break to plan a short journey through the Kansai region. The swing depicted in the painting originates from a small park discovered across from The Tale of Genji Museum in Uji, featuring a playground structure accented in red, yellow, and blue. Drawn by its whimsical quality, the two artists paused to play in the park, turning this quiet space into the most vivid memory of their trip. Returning to Japan in early 2026, Huang found the park still standing, its bright paint now softly weathered with age.
Huang and Wen first met in 2013 as co-finalists for the New Taipei City Art Award, getting to know each other while setting up the exhibition. Over the following decade, they pursued their artistic paths together, offering mutual support, critique, exhibition assistance, and shared moments of everyday life.
This shared journey came to an unexpected halt in mid-2024 when Wen passed away before the age of 40 after a year-and-a-half battle with illness. If a lifetime of friendship embraces figures akin to the sun and the moon, Wen served as that gentle, luminous presence, uniquely capable of holding Huang’s emotional vulnerabilities along the artistic journey. Deep in the Heart captures this most enduring memory, surrounding her in a embrace of flowing green, with the hope that her bright smile on the swing continues to shine beyond.
