www.44artgallery.com

In the world, there are many artists, just like Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse, Miro, with the people affected by the tribal art and inspiration, They find the most innocent sense of the spirit. Ever read in books from Senegalese had named "flavor" of poems by the poet Diop ,and depicting the section of African tribal ancestry and between the concepts of natural:

Listen more natural sound
Listen less human discourse

Listening to the water shouting
Listen breeze to kiss
Listen to trees whimper

African Tribal Mythical Beasts Theme Exhibition

Mythical creatures represent primitive spirit and aesthetics in African tribal art.

This exhibition centers on the imagery of mythical beasts in African tribal art, exploring the spiritual meaning and aesthetic significance of animal forms within tribal societies. In many African cultures, animals are not merely part of the natural world; they are regarded as symbols of primordial forces of nature and the collective spirit of the community.
Leopards, lions, antelopes, and various imagined mythical creatures frequently appear in carvings, masks, and ritual objects. These forms represent courage, protection, and power, while also embodying the profound and sacred relationship between humans and nature. Through these symbolic meanings, the invisible spiritual world is transformed into tangible artistic forms, allowing mythical beasts to become an essential medium of culture and belief.
Such animal symbolism also recalls the imagery conveyed in the story of Noah's Ark. When the world was faced with flood and chaos, animals were gathered into the Ark, preserving the continuity of life and the balance of nature. From a cultural and metaphorical perspective, the mythical beasts in African tribal art can likewise be seen as a kind of spiritual “ark,” carrying humanity’s reverence for nature, the protection of life, and an understanding of cosmic order.
The imagery of mythical creatures continues to influence contemporary culture and design. The Italian fashion house Gucci has frequently incorporated animal motifs such as tigers, snakes, and lions—symbols imbued with mythological power—into its clothing and accessories, transforming ancient symbolic forms into modern visual language.

Pregnancy Mask Theme Exhibition

The exhibition centers on six iconic and representative Makonde pregnancy masks, using the widely recognized cultural image of Venus to reorient our gaze toward the beauty of pregnancy and the generative force of life.

Venus symbolizes not only the harmony of ideal proportions, but also a celebration of life and love itself.
When these pregnancy masks from African tribal cultures enter a contemporary space, their warm materials and vitality-filled forms engage in a quiet, elegant dialogue with the surrounding order and intentional emptiness of the environment.

The works transcend their origins as cultural artifacts, becoming expressions of spatial taste and aesthetic sensibility—beautiful presences shaped by the body, life, and time.
Within a contemporary context, these masks invite viewers to adopt a more open perspective, experiencing a resonance of beauty that crosses cultural boundaries.

The curves and physical weight conveyed by the pregnant forms paradoxically bring greater balance and depth to the space.
For collectors, this is not merely an appreciation of African tribal culture, but a conscious choice to embrace the beauty of life itself.
