朝代畫廊 Dynasty Gallery 朝代畫廊創立於1984年，為致力於經營亞洲當代藝術以及扶持青年藝術家之專業畫廊。 We hold 5-7 exhibitions each year, with the earnest of discovering talented rising star.

朝代畫廊創立於1984年，為中華民國畫廊協會資深會員，負責人曾多屆擔任理事及常務理事。

朝代畫廊早期代理進口原版複製畫及版畫，曾為台灣最專業之進口批發商。90年代開始代理兩岸優秀中青輩藝術家，並於2006年開始經營台灣及亞洲當代藝術，2007年與同業合組「台灣當代藝術連線」，2009年成立"Young Art Taipei"，為共同創辦人。

目前朝代畫廊營運方向分為兩方面：經營經典名家作品，例如草間彌生、丁雄泉...等；以及培養優秀亞洲青年當代藝術家，積極發掘未來新秀。

Founded in 1984, Dynasty Gallery is a senior member of Taiwan Art Gallery Association. Being the director and exclusive director for many times in the associat

ion, Dynasty Gallery has been actively propelling the art industry of Taiwan. Since the 90s, we have been representing outstanding cross-strait artists, and started managing Taiwanese and Asian contemporary artists since 2006. Aiming for promoting contemporary artists in Taiwan, we gathered galleries and organized “Taiwan Contemporary Art Link” in 2007, and held “Young Art Taipei” since 2009 as one of the co-founder. Now, the management of Dynasty Gallery include two sections: the first is managing master pieces of the famous artists, such as Yayoi Kusama, Walasse Ting etc.; the other part is supporting excellent emerging young Asian artists.

李岳凌2001年起投入聲音藝術創作，關注人文音景、電子原音與具象音樂，於2006年完成法國國立高等裝飾藝術學院互動媒體藝術工作室後學位研究；2011年起自學攝影並專職創作。對他而言，聆聽、瑜珈、長跑與攝影都是內在覺知的練習——在用力與放鬆之間取得平衡，直至內外界線的消融。他將攝影視為「以視覺與外界共鳴的自動書寫」：在移動與感知之中，使攝影從現象的紀錄，轉化為召喚潛意識的儀式；影像因此成為不可見世界顯影的痕跡。個展包括《Raw Soul》(京都Under-throw，2018)、(東京Place M，2017)、《Frames In-Between》(英國Lewis Elton Gallery, University of Surrey，2014)，曾於台灣、祕魯、中國、香港、日本等地美術館、藝術節展出聯展，並於2025年「Photo ONE 專家面對面計畫」獲評審團特別獎(2025)及首獎(2016)。其攝影書〈Raw Soul〉(2017)、〈伏流 Undercurrent〉(2025) 由日本京都的赤赤舍出版。

Welcome you to enter the visual field of Undercurrent and to sense the hidden currents beneath its surfaces. As we contemplate these images, we may come to realize that the traces of land and others are intertwined with our own, continuously unfolding through time.

Yehlin LEE began his practice in sound art in 2001, focusing on soundscapes, electroacoustic composition, and musique concrète. In 2006, he completed Post-Diplome at the Interactive Media Art Studio at École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Since 2011, he has been self-taught in photography and has worked as a full-time artist. For LEE, listening, yoga, long-distance running, and photography are all practices of inner awareness—seeking balance between exertion and release until the boundary between inner and outer dissolves. He regards photography as “automatic writing through visual resonance with the external world,” transforming it from a record of phenomena into a ritual that summons the subconscious. His images thus become traces through which the invisible world reveals itself. His solo exhibitions include Raw Soul (Kyoto UNDER-THROW, 2018; Tokyo Place M, 2017) and Frames In-Between (Lewis Elton Gallery, University of Surrey, UK, 2014). He has participated in group exhibitions in Taiwan, Peru, China, Hong Kong, and Japan. His photobooks Raw Soul (2017) and Undercurrent (2025) are published by Akaaka Art Publishing in Kyoto. He received the Jury Special Prize (2025) and First Prize (2016) at the Photo ONE Portfolio Review.

在拍攝過程中，藝術家回望自身生命的轉折，進而意識到個體經驗與土地歷史之間的深層連結。《伏流》因此指向一種集體性的「疤痕結構」：累積的創傷在時間中轉化為信仰，並成為維繫群體的精神力量。河面上的日常與河面下的無形流動彼此交織，呈現出一種不穩定卻持續運作的內在平衡。詩人吳俞萱認為，《伏流》的關鍵在於重新看待「表面」。李岳凌透過貼近物件、壓縮空間的方式，讓影像不再只是用來說故事，而是讓畫面本身就成立。像血痕、剝落的顏料或懸掛的物件，看似靜止，卻隱含著內在的變化與力量，在穩定與崩解之間形成張力。在影像的安排上，《伏流》不走線性敘事，而是透過畫面之間的呼應與連結，形成一種類似夢境的觀看經驗，讓觀者可以自由感受與理解。相較於〈Raw Soul〉偏向象徵的表現方式，《伏流》更直接面對事物本身，強調「看到的就是它本身」，也進一步回應了我們如何觀看、記憶與理解世界的問題。

Throughout the process, the artist reflects on his own life’s turning points, recognizing a profound connection between personal experience and the historical memory embedded in the land. Undercurrent thus points to a collective “structure of scars,” where accumulated trauma transforms into belief and becomes a sustaining spiritual force. The visible surface of everyday life and the invisible currents beneath it intertwine, forming a dynamic yet fragile equilibrium. Poet Yu-Hsuan WU suggests that the essence of Undercurrent lies in rethinking the notion of “surface.” By compressing space and moving close to material details, LEE allows the images to stand on their own rather than merely narrate. Blood traces, peeling paint, and suspended objects may appear still, yet they carry an inner movement, holding tension between stability and collapse. The sequencing of images follows a non-linear structure, forming a dreamlike network of associations that invites open-ended interpretation. Compared to the symbolic approach of Raw Soul, Undercurrent confronts things as they are, emphasizing that what is seen is what it is, and raising deeper questions about how we perceive, remember, and understand the world.

《伏流》創作背景源於曾文溪流域的歷史與信仰脈絡。這條曾被稱為「青瞑蛇」的河流多次改道，其不穩定性深刻形塑地方對自然與神靈的理解。在各庄頭的祭典儀式中，乩童透過附身與身體實踐召喚神靈，以抵禦災厄並撫慰歷史創傷，人們亦從中獲得心靈慰藉，使信仰成為日常生活的重要依託。隨著社會演進，這些傳統逐漸轉變，然而在李岳凌的影像中，仍可見當地居民於有形與無形之間延續著祖先留下的文化痕跡，使觀看轉化為一種共同的感知經驗。

The project is rooted in the historical and spiritual landscape of the Zengwen River basin. Once known as the “Blind Serpent,” the river has shifted its course many times, shaping local perceptions of nature and the divine. In village rituals, spirit mediums invoke deities through possession and physical endurance, calling upon unseen forces to ward off disasters and heal historical wounds. Through these practices, faith becomes a vital source of emotional sustenance and an integral part of daily life. Although such traditions have gradually transformed over time, LEE’s images reveal how local communities continue to carry and transmit these cultural legacies, both visibly and invisibly, turning the act of viewing into a shared sensory experience.

朝代畫廊向您宣布，我們將於5月16日下午4點舉行台灣攝影藝術家李岳凌個展《伏流》開幕茶會，展期至6月27日。本展將呈現李岳凌於台灣南部的母親河曾文溪流域進行之攝影創作計畫，延續其對身體、信仰與土地之間關係的長期關注。《伏流》承接其2017年攝影集〈Raw Soul〉的感知探索，進一步深入民間信仰與集體記憶的底層，試圖捕捉在現代化進程中逐漸隱沒，卻仍持續流動的精神痕跡。本展亦將於6月6日舉辦座談暨〈伏流〉攝影書發表會，誠摯邀請您蒞臨參與。

Dynasty Gallery is pleased to announce the opening reception of Undercurrent, a solo exhibition by Taiwanese photographic artist Yehlin LEE, to be held on May 16 at 4:00 PM. The exhibition will run through June 27. This exhibition presents LEE’s photographic project developed in the Zengwen River basin in southern Taiwan—often regarded as the island’s “mother river”—continuing his long-term exploration of the relationship between body, belief, and land. Undercurrent extends the perceptual inquiry of his 2017 photobook Raw Soul, delving further into the substrata of folk belief and collective memory, and seeking to capture spiritual traces that are gradually fading amid modernization, yet remain in constant flow. The exhibition will also host an Artist Talk and Photobook Launch of Undercurrent on June 6. We warmly invite you to join us.

曾上杰的木雕並不追求形體的精準重現，而是傾向如何將精神感受再演繹。曾上杰認為，從繪畫角度看待自己的立體作品，更能表達他的內心對世界的感知，其顏料上色覆蓋著刀痕所產生的隨機性，以及上色後再刻掉的曖昧感，皆是呼應藝術家對於雕刻「減法」的認知，也是一種虛實之間的探索。本次新作《紅區》與《遠水》呈現了藝術家於不同階段中的自我挑戰與實踐，以粗獷明確的雕刻筆觸凸顯了材質與肌理的節奏，刻痕轉折面創造的陰影層次也隨著光線參與了色彩表現，構成光影與彩度的合作與張力。

TSENG Shang-Jie does not seek precise anatomical representation in his wood sculptures; instead, he focuses on reinterpreting inner, spiritual sensations. By approaching his three-dimensional works from a painterly perspective, Tseng articulates his perception of the world more directly. The layers of pigment that cover the randomness of chisel marks, along with the ambiguity created by carving back into painted surfaces, echo his understanding of sculpture as an act of “subtraction” and a continuous exploration between presence and absence. His recent works, “Red Zone” and “Distant Waters”, reflect different stages of self-challenge and artistic practice. Through bold and decisive carving gestures, Tseng emphasizes the rhythm of material and texture, while the shadows formed by shifting carved planes interact with light, actively participating in the expression of color and creating a dynamic tension between luminosity and chromatic intensity.

呂文的創作關注動物的生命狀態，亦映照自身經驗，從對飼養愛犬的觀察出發，逐步延伸至當代社會中人類與犬貓共處的現象，如流浪動物與家庭毛小孩等議題。他透過雕塑的材質技法與空間語言，回應對「眾生」的思考，並在具象動物造型中，進一步探討人類情感、慾念與行為模式的隱喻。創作上選用木雕與脫活乾漆等傳統材料，藉由層層堆疊與手作痕跡，呈現時間累積的質地與文化深度。在科技快速變動的時代，呂文以緩慢而踏實的創作方式，邀請觀者重新感受生命之形與存在的關係。

LU Wen focuses his practice on the states of animal life, reflecting his own experiences. Beginning with observations drawn from living with his pet dog, his inquiry gradually expands to contemporary social phenomena surrounding human relationships with dogs and cats, including stray animals and “fur children” within family structures. Through sculptural materials, techniques, and spatial language, Lu Wen engages with the concept of “sentient beings,” using figurative animal forms to further explore metaphors of human emotions, desires, and behavioral patterns. Working with traditional materials such as wood carving and kansh*tsu (dry lacquer), he employs processes of layering and visible handwork to reveal textures shaped by accumulated time and cultural depth. In an era of rapid technological change, Lu Wen embraces a slow and grounded mode of making, inviting viewers to rediscover the forms of life and their relationship to existence.

劉振祥為台灣重要的攝影家之一，長年耕耘新聞與表演藝術攝影，尤以與雲門舞集的合作，以及多位知名導演所執導的電影劇照聞名。他影像中的強烈紀實質地，在雜誌與報社任職期間，他以獨特視角貼近街頭第一線，在言論仍受限制的年代持續拍攝，為當時社會提供不同於官方主流的觀點，也為台灣民主化進程記載了一頁頁的影像。《戀戀風塵》系列為劉振祥於與導演侯孝賢合作期間所拍攝的側寫劇照，透過其獨特的攝影視角，捕捉電影畫面之外演員、劇組與鏡頭之間的互動瞬間，留下珍貴而細膩的創作紀錄。

LIU Chen-Hsiang is one of Taiwan’s most significant photographers, with a long career spanning photojournalism and performance arts photography. He is particularly renowned for his collaborations with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan and for his film stills created for works directed by many leading filmmakers. Marked by a strong documentary sensibility, Liu’s images—shaped during his years working for magazines and newspapers—bring him to the front lines of the street with a distinctive, intimate perspective. In an era when freedom of expression was still constrained, he persistently documented society, offering viewpoints that diverged from official narratives and recording, frame by frame, Taiwan’s path toward democratization. The “Dust in the Wind” series comprises behind-the-scenes stills taken during Liu’s collaboration with director Hou Hsiao-hsien. Through his singular photographic vision, Liu captures moments beyond the film’s on-screen imagery—revealing the subtle interactions among actors, crew, and camera—and preserves a body of work that is both precious and finely observed.

水谷篤司的雕刻創作以「似曾相識的風景」為主題，這些風景混合了現實、印象、記憶、遺忘、虛構與未來，交織成作品的形體。他試圖將自己的作品與觀者心中的風景融合並形成一種巨大磅礡的樣子，激發人們內心深處的情感，或成為某些記憶浮現的契機。對他而言，雕刻雖是藉由肉體勞動產生的具體行為，卻也是接觸人心深處的一種方式。他常年持續進行的《Drawing》系列則如為風景雕製的輕盈速寫，將腦海中的不斷重疊的各種記憶具像化。

MIZUTANI Atsushi's sculptural works revolve around the theme of "familiar landscapes." These landscapes blend reality, impressions, memories, oblivion, fiction, and the future, intertwining to form the shapes of his creations. He seeks to merge his works with the landscapes embedded in the viewer's mind, creating a grand and powerful presence that evokes deep emotions or triggers the resurfacing of certain memories. For him, sculpture, though a tangible act born from physical labor, is also a way to connect with the depths of the human heart. His long-running Drawing series resembles light, swift sketches carved for landscapes, giving tangible form to the continuously overlapping layers of memory in his mind.

林餘慶＆魏杏諭共同創作至今已近二十年，藝術家耐心分配色調和色塊，在繁忙緊湊的節奏中，公平地分配色彩，創造了均衡生態。此外，系列作品之間的物件串連，也讓他們的創作產生古時壁畫的共時性──將長篇幅的故事呈現在一片牆上，讓觀者於一眼全覽的同時也能在細節裡悠遊。藝術家筆下的主要角色「Wulala」就像是他們的化身，不斷出現在作品畫面之中，像是導遊般引領我們徜徉在林餘慶和魏杏諭為作品所創作的心情詩海中，盡情探索。

LIN Yu-Ching & WEI Hsing-Yu have collaborated for nearly two decades. With patience and precision, the artists carefully distribute tones and color blocks, allocating color with an almost egalitarian rhythm amid dense and dynamic compositions to create a balanced visual ecology. The connections between individual works within a series further generate a sense of synchronicity reminiscent of ancient murals—unfolding an extended narrative across a single wall, allowing viewers to grasp the whole at a glance while wandering freely through its details. The recurring protagonist “Wulala”, a figure that functions as the artists’ alter ego, appears continuously throughout their works. Like a guide, Wulala leads viewers through the poetic emotional landscapes constructed by Lin Yu-Ching and Wei Hsing-Yu, inviting an immersive journey of exploration and contemplation.
