German artist Tobias Stutz has long explored architecture, space, and light as the central themes of his paintings. Although his works are devoid of human figures, the presence of people is always felt. Architecture becomes more than a physical structure—it transforms into a psychological landscape, while light serves as a quiet measure of time. Within his restrained and meticulously composed scenes lies a profound sense of emotion and poetic stillness.
Taiwanese photographer Chou Yu-Hsu turns his lens toward the subtle shifts of sky, clouds, and light, inviting us to notice the quiet moments that often go unseen. His photographs avoid overt narratives, yet within their silence, time, emotion, and perception unfold with remarkable depth.
One artist layers time with oil paint; the other captures it through the camera. One explores the inner world through architecture, the other reflects the human spirit through the sky. Though their artistic languages are distinctly different, both resonate with the central idea of Still, Not Still—that the deepest movement often happens in the quietest moments.
Still, Not Still
Sometimes, what appears motionless is where change quietly begins.
