進入展場，你會先遇到的是《很奇怪耶，都是要用這種方式去買這些東西》——該雙頻道錄像為藝術家鄭亭亭於2025年宜蘭羅東超級浪駐村時的創作：他好奇於食物與個人地方認同之間的連結，而這樣的連結又是如何透過歷史、觀光、行銷等元素建立。駐村期間，他訪問了當地與農業、觀光和飲食相關的工作者：包括小農、咖啡廳、餐廳、選物店的經營者、以及農產品包裝設計師等，希望找出最能夠代表「宜蘭」的食物。另一端的單頻道錄像則記錄著他在駐村結束後於台北所進行的工作坊：工作坊邀請參與者分享自己與食物的記憶，並透過食物本身以外的媒材——文字、聲音和敘事，來探索飲食習慣與其記憶的重述如何形塑或加強地方認同。在過程中，藝術家也與參與者一起調製並享用以宜蘭在地素材做成的雞尾酒。
The first project you would encounter is “It’s weird that we need to buy things this way” on the ground floor. The dual-channeled video installation was made during Cheng’s residency at Hyperwave in Yilan. For the project, Cheng interviewed local residents who work in food, agriculture, and tourism industries, such as restaurants, cafés, grocery stores, farms, and product designs. Through discussing the connection between the unique agricultural industry of Yilan, governmental policy, tourism, and diet, Cheng intends to examine the relationship between dietary culture and the construction of place identity. The single-channeled video on the other end is the documentation of the workshop she had, where she invited participants to share their food-related memories. Through mediums beyond the food itself, such as text, sound, and narratives, the workshop explores how the diet rituals and the re-telling of memories shape our place identities. Together with Cheng, participants also created and enjoyed cocktails made with ingredients from Yilan.
