「甘樂」與「阿舍」為出身台南的藝術家曾英棟別名，前者是「陀螺」台語，形容其忙碌卻甘之如飴的人生；而原指富家子弟的「阿舍」一詞，在此則代表了藝術家悠閒富足的創作心態，與盡情享受生活的個性。

「甘樂阿舍美術館」由曾英棟於2015年創立，一樓不定期舉辦國內外藝術家特展、地下一樓是曾英棟作品常設展，二樓作為藝術家工作室，原本充當停車場的院子則經由整修佈置，轉變為翠綠雅緻、花草扶疏的園子。藝術家主張享受生活方能創作藝術的精神，在此得到了最佳實踐。

“Asir Art Museum” was founded by Tseng Ting Tung in 2015. It consists of the ground floor as the exhibition room for local and international artists, the basement for Tseng Ting Tung’s permanent exhibition, the second floor as the artist’s studio, and a beautiful outdoor garden.

The rain has finally stopped! Everyone in southern Taiwan has worked so hard getting through such extreme rainfall🥹

We are now preparing for our upcoming exhibition and will be closed until Wednesday, September 2nd. Our next exhibition is deeply tied to Tainan. How will the winding alleys and everyday corners of this city we love look through the eyes of a different cultural background? What charming facets will they reveal? Stay tuned! 😍

讓原本濕冷的午後
彷彿也明亮、溫暖了起來

自2023年曾英棟老師於教廷中華民國大使館
以「五餅二魚」為題舉辦個展後
這已是教廷貴賓們第三度造訪甘樂阿舍美術館

曾老師和主教們邊聊藝術與生活
邊品嚐美味多汁的當季水果
充分展現了臺南人的好客
也為兩國之間的交流留下美好回憶

A delegation of bishops from the Holy See, a diplomatic ally of the Republic of China (Taiwan), traveled all the way to visit us, making the otherwise damp and chilly afternoon feel a little brighter and warmer.

Since TSENG Ying-Tung held his solo exhibition, Five Loaves and Two Fish, at the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Holy See in 2023, this marks the third visit by guests from the Holy See to Asir Art Museum.

Over seasonal, juicy Taiwanese fruits, TSENG and the bishops chatted about art and everyday life, sharing not only the flavors of Taiwan, but also the warmth and hospitality of Tainan. It was a warm and meaningful exchange, leaving behind wonderful memories of the friendship between the two countries.

Starting tomorrow, a brand-new exhibition will debut at the Asir Art Museum. Five artists have teamed up with MEAN WELL Group (SDG), an outstanding Taiwanese enterprise, to ensure that beauty does not just remain on canvases and display stands, but transforms into a powerful force that illuminates society.

Seeing a brand-new work by TSENG Ying-Tung first thing in the morning feels like receiving a heartfelt blessing.

A warm, abundant land shaped like an island. A tree reaching upward in quiet serenity, adorned with gem-like hearts. So delicate, so wonderfully soothing. And don't you think its richly textured, charming silhouette looks a bit like an opened Japanese folding fan—a symbol of happiness and good fortune?

Or maybe... a slice of pizza. Or even a piece of cake. (Spoken like a Tainan local who's always thinking about food. 😆
