面對不斷變化的聲音、影像與光線，該怎麼欣賞「關係時態」？

真鍋大度分享，你可以單純享受作品帶來的感官體驗，也可以進一步探索作品背後的運作機制，找到自己喜歡的觀看方式。

展場使用從日本空運來臺的音響，為此次展覽打造獨特音場設計，隨著不斷生成的影像，聲音也會在展場中遊走變化。走進三個展間，還可以發現不同的有趣體驗：

你可以觀察人工生命的生成紀錄，看看它們如何彼此對話。

🔹 B 展覽室｜因你而改變的共享生態系

Japanese media artist ’s first major solo exhibition outside Japan, “ – Life Beyond Simulation,” is now on view at Taichung Art Museum .ᐟ.ᐟ

With sounds, images, and light constantly changing, how should we experience “RELATIONAL TIME”?

Manabe shares that you can simply enjoy the sensory experience of the works, or explore the mechanisms behind them to discover your own way of experiencing the exhibition.

The exhibition features sound systems specially shipped from Japan to create a unique soundscape for the exhibition. As the images continuously evolve, sounds move and shift throughout the exhibition space. Step into the three Rooms to discover different experiences:

Observe records of artificial life as it evolves and see how these entities interact with one another.

🔹 Room B｜A Shared Ecosystem Shaped by You
Try moving around and pausing in the space to discover how your movements influence the changing images and ecosystem.

🔹 Room C｜Step into the World of a Synthetic Brain
Enjoy real-time music selected for you by AI agents, and discover how a fruit fly visual model senses your position, making you part of the work’s ongoing evolution.

中美館在籌備時期，即展開一系列的在地身心障礙需求調查，參考訪問民間協會、組織以及其他文化場館的經驗，並根據臺中身心障礙者類型的人口結構數據，掌握潛在觀眾的使用情境與需求，擬定短、中、長期發展計畫。除了重視服務人員的培訓，也積極規劃「安靜空間」、「共融空間」以及非視覺與聽聾共賞等多元 #共融導覽服務。

✸ 積極建立在地網絡，打造友善場館服務
長期參與臺灣各地文化近用計畫的三明治工共同創辦人謝若琳分享，機構除了納入專業建議，也需要建立在地的網絡，才能更永續地推廣 #文化近用。
中美館透過前期研究與分階段規劃，從館舍交通方式、無障礙參觀動線、網站資訊到空間設施，並邀請身心障礙族群進行焦點團體參訪，整合各族群在參觀時可能面臨的挑戰與需求，提升館舍整體服務。

The special exhibition The Scorpion and the Frog: Masterworks from the YAGEO Foundation Collection opens at Taichung Art Museum on November 20 (Fri.), bringing together works spanning centuries of art history.

Bringing together 66 works from the YAGEO Foundation Collection, the exhibition spans from the Renaissance to the contemporary era. 延續「熱暑人」聽聾共賞導覽的熱烈迴響，今年下半年，中美館將以 #真鍋大度「關係時態」－超越模擬的生命形式展覽為主題，推出 #非視覺導覽與 #聽聾共賞導覽兩場共融活動。

日本媒體藝術家真鍋大度(Daito Manabe)的作品結合即時運算、影像、聲音、光與身體感知，打造沉浸式體驗。這一次，也邀請大家打開感官的想像——

#講座回顧｜共存的節奏：關係時態與藝術科技的未來

10/4（日）的講座，在媒體藝術團隊「超維度」創意總監蔡宏賢的主持中，真鍋大度從20多年前的創作歷程談起，並透過現場提問與觀眾交流，分享藝術、科技與未來的共存想像。

從早期將身體動作與生理訊號轉化為聲音、光線與影像，到後來探索神經網絡、腦類器官、人工生命與 AI 代理，真鍋大度持續拓展科技與生命交會的創作邊界，思考不同生命形式如何互相影響、共同演化。

真鍋大度也介紹了特別為本次展覽建置的專屬網站 : (https://projects.daito.ws/relational-time )，讓觀眾即時觀察展間中 AI 代理如何透過對話與資源分配影響細胞群體，而細胞也會隨著環境變化產生新的形態。作品中的聲音與影像持續生成，讓觀眾得以進一步理解展間裡不同系統的運作與變化。

日本媒體藝術家 #真鍋大度（Daito Manabe）海外首次大型個展「 #關係時態」—超越模擬的生命形式，今日於中美館正式開幕 .ᐟ.ᐟ

開幕活動中，藝術家真鍋大度與策展人鄺佳玲（Joel Kwong）帶領大家走進三個展間，從作品概念、空間設計到創作脈絡，一步步認識真鍋大度此次為中美館量身打造的全新作品。

三個展間各自呈現不同的創作主題，從細胞的生成、人工生命的創造，到以果蠅神經連結組為基礎、建構具有自身神經活動模型的合成大腦，帶領觀眾從微觀的生命機制出發，走進身體感知、人機互動與 AI 代理生命的交互作用，展開對時間與生命生成的不同想像。

開幕限定的現場演出也於展覽室 A 登場。真鍋大度運用展覽現場的聲音、影像與燈光系統，讓展覽空間化身為演出現場。隨著節奏與畫面快速變換，挑高的展間也呈現出獨特的樣貌，帶領現場觀眾走進由藝術家即時操演的聲光體驗 🎵✨

｜RELATIONAL TIME – Life Beyond Simulation ✨

The first major overseas solo exhibition by Japanese media artist , RELATIONAL TIME – Life Beyond Simulation, officially opened today at Taichung Art Museum! .ᐟ.ᐟ

During the opening event, artist Daito Manabe and curator Joel Kwong led visitors through the three exhibition rooms, introducing the new works created specifically for Taichung Art Museum, from their concepts and spatial design to the ideas and processes behind their creation.

Each room explores a different creative theme, from cell generation and the creation of artificial life to a synthetic brain based on a fruit fly connectome, incorporating a model of its own neural activity. Starting from the mechanisms of life at a microscopic scale, the exhibition invites visitors to explore bodily perception, human-machine interaction, and the interplay between AI agents and living systems, opening up new ways of thinking about time and the emergence of life.

The opening-day live performance took place in Exhibition Room A. Using the exhibition’s sound, video, and lighting systems, Manabe transformed the exhibition rooms into a live performance environment. As rhythms and visuals shifted rapidly, the exhibition rooms’ high-ceilinged space took on a distinctive atmosphere, immersing the audience in an audiovisual experience shaped by the artist in real time. 🎵✨

Japanese media artist Daito Manabe’s first major solo exhibition overseas, RELATIONAL TIME – Life Beyond Simulation, officially opens tomorrow!

Across three exhibition spaces, the exhibition explores different forms of “time” and “generation.” As you move, pause, and interact with the works, they continuously change, and each visit may reveal a different “relational time.”

To celebrate the opening, 25 visitors will have the special opportunity to join the opening ceremony, preview the exhibition, attend Manabe’s opening-day live performance, and receive a limited-edition souvenir. Advance registration is required.

※ Admission is free on opening day.
※ Exhibition Rooms B and C will open to visitors at 15:45.
※ Following the performance, Exhibition Room A will temporarily close for equipment adjustments and is scheduled to reopen at 17:00.
※ Admission will be regulated according to the capacity of each exhibition space. Entry may be temporarily suspended once capacity is reached. Please follow the instructions of museum staff.

當美術館與圖書館在同一個文化場域中相遇，會激發出什麼樣的創作可能？

中美館即日起正式啟動 #美術館與圖書館之間駐館計畫，邀請國內外創作者進駐臺中綠美圖，運用兩館的館藏、檔案、空間與相關資源，展開研究、創作與交流，一起探索美術館與圖書館之間更多元的創作可能。

本次徵件不限國籍與年齡，開放視覺藝術、表演、聲音、音樂、文學、影像及跨領域研究等創作領域申請 👇

▸ 創作製作費最高 60 萬元（含駐館期間之研究、創作、作品製作、旅運日支、住宿費等）
▸ 境外入選者提供國際交通支持
▸ 可運用兩館館藏、檔案與空間資源
▸ 駐館成果預計於 2027 年底展覽呈現

🎨📖 ｜“Between the Art Museum and the Library” Residency Program Now Open .ᐟ.ᐟ

What kinds of creative possibilities might emerge when an art museum and a library meetwithin a shared cultural complex?

Taichung Art Museum is now calling for applications for the “Between the Art Museum and the Library” Residency Program, inviting creators from Taiwan and abroad to take up residence at Taichung Green Museumbrary. Drawing on the collections, archives, spaces, and other resources of both institutions, residents will develop research, creative practice, and exchange, opening up new possibilities between the art museum and the library.

Applicants of all nationalities and ages are welcome. Applications are open to practitioners working in visual art, performing arts, sound, music, literature, moving image, and interdisciplinary research. 👇

▸ Creative production funding of up to NT$600,000, including the residency per diem
▸ International travel support for selected residents based outside Taiwan
▸ Access to the collections, archives, and spaces of both institutions
▸ Residency outcomes are expected to be presented in an exhibition at the end of 2027
