Neptune Gallery will participate in “ART TAICHUNG 2026 Taichung International Art Fair,” held from June 4 (Thu) to June 7 (Sun), 2026. This edition of the fair will be presented for the first time at the Taichung International Exhibition Center (TICEC).

Neptune Gallery will be presented at Booth D11, featuring works in nihonga (mineral pigment painting), wood sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media. The presentation continues the gallery’s long-term engagement with East Asian contemporary art, highlighting diverse artistic perspectives and evolving visual languages across cultural contexts.

“New Perspectives on Nihonga ⎯ A Group Exhibition of Six Contemporary Nihonga Artists” officially opened on March 28 (Sat). Bringing together six artists, the exhibition explores diverse expressions of figures, landscapes, and inner sensibilities through the distinctive use of mineral pigments and refined layering techniques in Nihonga, revealing its evolving possibilities in a contemporary context. The exhibition will be on view through May 30 (Sat), and we warmly invite you to visit during this period.

Artist Introduction｜Yi Shuan WU

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Yi Shuan Wu holds an MFA in Japanese Painting from the Department of Painting at Tama Art University, Japan. Her practice is influenced by the Rinpa school of the Edo period, with a focus on decorative and planar qualities. By employing mineral pigments and metal leaf, she develops layered surfaces that interact with light, allowing her works to reveal different expressions and appearances depending on the viewing angle and illumination.

Her series of circular compositions combines careful observation of nature with personal psychological imagery, reconstructing landscapes that exist between reality and imagination. Through depictions of urban nightscapes, the passage of time, and human relationships, Yi Shuan Wu weaves emotional memories into radiating compositions, inviting viewers into a contemplative space that encourages reflection and open-ended imagination.

生於台灣台北市，畢業於日本多摩美術大學繪畫學科日本畫領域碩士。吳逸萱的創作受江戶時期琳派影響，關注繪畫的裝飾性與平面性，並透過礦物顏料與金屬箔的運用，發展出富有層次並能夠與光線互動的形式特徵，使作品在不同角度和光線下呈現不同的表情和樣貌

她以圓形構圖發展的系列作品，融合對自然的細緻觀察與內在心象的轉化，重構出介於現實與想像之間的風景。透過對都市夜景、時間流動與人我關係的描繪，吳逸萱藉由融入情感的記憶編織及層層擴散的畫面營造，引導觀者進入沉靜而開放的聯想空間。
