每一個空間，都有屬於自己的記憶，而這些記憶，來自時間的累積，也來自不同地域、不同文化的相遇與選擇。
《空間的記憶：跨地域收藏之對話——玉衡藝術中心收藏展》並非僅是一場以收藏為主題的展覽，而是玉衡藝術中心自2022年創立以來，在邁向下一個階段之際的一次回望。多年來，玉衡藝術中心以非營利藝術空間的形式持續實踐，策劃展覽、支持藝術交流，也在與藝術家、作品及不同文化的相遇之中，逐步累積了今日的收藏。這些作品跨越時間，來自不同地域與文化背景，見證了空間一路走來的軌跡。當不同地域的作品於同一空間中相遇，不僅共同形塑了玉衡藝術中心的收藏脈絡，更在彼此之間持續展開對話，交織出玉衡藝術中心獨有的空間記憶。
當多年來的實踐邁向新的階段，玉衡藝術中心也即將迎來新的定位與方向。本次展覽選擇回望，並非為了停留於過去，而是透過重新整理這些收藏與記憶，重新理解它們如何形塑今日的空間，並成為未來持續前行的基礎。
收藏從來不是終點，而是持續對話、不斷建立連結的開始。空間的記憶，也並非停留於過往，而是在每一次的觀看與對話之中，不斷被延續。這場展覽既是前一個階段的回顧，也是下一個階段的起點，在過去與未來之間，為玉衡藝術中心揭開下一個階段的序章。
Every space has memories of its own. These memories are built not only through the accumulation of time, but also through encounters and choices across different regions and cultures.
Memory of a Space: Dialogues Across a Transregional Collection — Yu Hen Art Center Collection Exhibition is not merely an exhibition centred on a collection; it is also a moment of reflection for Yu Hen Art Center as it moves towards its next stage since its establishment in 2022. Over the years, Yu Hen Art Center has operated as a non-profit art space, curating exhibitions, supporting artistic exchange, and gradually building its collection through encounters with artists, artworks, and diverse cultures. Spanning different periods of time, regions, and cultural backgrounds, these works bear witness to the journey of the space. As works from different regions come together within the same space, they not only shape the collection itself, but also continue to engage in dialogue with one another, weaving together the unique memory of Yu Hen Art Center.
As years of practice lead into a new stage, Yu Hen Art Center is likewise entering a new phase of development and direction. This exhibition looks back not to remain in the past, but to revisit these collections and memories, gaining a renewed understanding of how they have shaped the space as it exists today and how they can serve as the foundation for its future.
A collection is never an end, but the beginning of an ongoing dialogue and the continual building of connections. The memory of a space does not remain in the past; rather, it continues to evolve through every act of viewing and every dialogue. This exhibition is both a reflection on the previous chapter and the starting point of the next, standing between the past and the future as Yu Hen Art Center opens a new chapter in its journey.
