Exploring Trinidad and Tobago’s Cultural Gems! 🌎

The National Museum and Art Gallery (NMAG) may be closed for extensive restoration and refurbishment, but its role as a dynamic cultural institution remains vibrant and impactful. Under the visionary leadership of Curatorial Manager Keomi Serrette, NMAG has expanded its outreach initiatives, ensuring that the museum continues to serve its community and foster global connections.

In response to a request from the National Carnival Commission (NCC), NMAG proudly organized a guided cultural tour for Mr. Chen Boyu, a cultural exchange scholar from China. This effort was part of an international collaboration between the NCC and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, designed to promote cultural exchange and deepen diplomatic ties.

Mr. Boyu’s immersive experience included visits to some of Trinidad and Tobago’s most iconic and historically significant landmarks:
✅ Sewdass Sadhu Shiva Mandir Temple in the Sea – A unique testament to resilience and devotion.
✅ The House of Angostura – Celebrating the legacy of one of the country’s most renowned industries.
✅ The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago – Central Bank Museum – Showcasing the nation’s economic history and cultural contributions.

This initiative is part of NMAG’s broader efforts to introduce Trinidad and Tobago’s heritage sites to the diplomatic community, reinforcing its dedication to fostering cultural exchange, education, and international collaboration. Even during its physical closure, NMAG remains committed to showcasing the nation’s artistic and cultural heritage, ensuring Trinidad and Tobago’s vibrant legacy is widely celebrated and preserved.
