Çağımızda yeni medya araçlarının hızlandırdığı görsel tüketim biçimleri, yüzeyi ve biçimi giderek daha görünür kılarken içeriği geri plana itiyor; hatta kimi zaman bütünüyle önemsizleştiriyor. Bu sergi, izleyiciyi ilk bakışta karşılaşılan yüzeyin ötesine geçmeye, görünenin altında varlığını sürdüren anlam katmanlarını keşfetmeye ve kabuğun içinde saklı olanla kısa süreli de olsa bir bağ kurmaya davet ediyor.
Biçimsel estetiğin sınırlarını aşan sergi, “Bir yapıtı, düşünceyi ya da mekânı dolduran asıl unsur nedir?” sorusunu odağına alıyor. Sanatçılar; yokluk, yeniden mekânsallaştırma ve hatırlama gibi kavramları, kendi dünyalarını biçimlendiren muhtevalar üzerinden yeniden yorumluyor. Bu yapıtlar aracılığıyla izleyiciye ulaşan her bir yaklaşım, görünür olan ile onu içeriden kuran anlam arasındaki ilişkiyi yeniden düşünmeye alan açıyor.

In an age when new media technologies have accelerated the consumption of images, surface and form have become increasingly dominant, pushing content into the background—at times rendering it almost insignificant. This exhibition invites viewers to move beyond what first meets the eye, to explore the layers of meaning that persist beneath the visible surface, and to establish, however momentarily, a connection with what lies within the shell.
Moving beyond the confines of formal aesthetics, the exhibition centres on the question: “What is the essential element that inhabits and gives substance to an artwork, an idea, or a space?” Through the contents that shape their inner worlds, the artists reinterpret notions of absence, re-spatialisation, and remembrance. Each artistic position conveyed through these works opens up a space in which to reconsider the relationship between what is visible and the meaning that constitutes it from within.
