Arkas Sanat Göztepe’de yakından görebileceğiniz Mübin Orhon’un 1970'li yıllardaki monokrom çalışmaları, rengin tek başına bir ifade alanına dönüşebileceğini gösterir. Kırmızının farklı yoğunluklarıyla oluşturulan yüzeyde figür ya da anlatı değil; ışık, derinlik, ritim ve duygu öne çıkar. Sanatçı, inceltilmiş boya katmanları, kazıma izleri ve dikey-yatay fırça hareketleriyle tuvalde meditatif bir alan yaratır. Bu dönemde Doğu felsefesinin etkisiyle sadeleşen Orhon, rengi bir nesne değil, bir deneyim olarak ele almıştır.
Mübin Orhon's monochrome works from the 1970s, which you can see up close at Arkas Sanat Göztepe, demonstrate that color alone can become a field of expression. On surfaces shaped by varying intensities of red, it is not figuration or narrative that takes center stage, but rather light, depth, rhythm, and emotion. Through diluted layers of paint, scraped textures, and vertical and horizontal brushstrokes, the artist creates a meditative space on the canvas. Influenced by Eastern philosophy during this period, Orhon embraced a more refined visual language, treating color not as an object, but as an experience.
