Concept: Perfect Controversy
Perfect Controversy is the core design philosophy behind Baan Asana 169.
Rather than imitating the past, the project celebrates the dialogue between old and new. The century-old timber house has been carefully preserved, while the new addition is expressed through a contemporary architectural language. Their contrast is intentional—allowing each period to retain its own identity while existing in harmony.
This approach embraces the principles of adaptive reuse and material honesty, where every material is presented in its authentic form. Aged timber, weathered surfaces, exposed steel, concrete, and glass are not concealed, but celebrated as expressions of time and craftsmanship.
The result is not a conflict between two architectures, but a meaningful conversation between history and the present—where preservation and innovation coexist to give heritage a new life.

โครงการไม่ได้พยายามทำให้อาคารใหม่กลมกลืนจนเหมือนอาคารเดิม แต่เลือกให้ "ความเก่า" และ "ความใหม่" อยู่ร่วมกันอย่างชัดเจน อาคารไม้โบราณอายุกว่า 100 ปีได้รับการอนุรักษ์ไว้ ขณะที่อาคารใหม่สะท้อนภาษาสถาปัตยกรรมร่วมสมัย ทั้งสองส่วนจึงสร้างบทสนทนาระหว่างอดีตและปัจจุบัน โดยยังคงเอกลักษณ์ของแต่ละยุคสมัยไว้
แนวคิดนี้สอดคล้องกับการ Adaptive Reuse และ สัจจะวัสดุ (Material Honesty) ที่เผยให้เห็นความงามแท้จริงของไม้เก่า เหล็ก ปูน และกระจก โดยไม่ปกปิดร่องรอยของกาลเวลา
ผลลัพธ์จึงไม่ใช่ความขัดแย้งของสถาปัตยกรรม หากแต่เป็น "ความต่างที่สมบูรณ์" ซึ่งทำให้มรดกทางสถาปัตยกรรมยังคงมีชีวิต และก้าวเดินไปพร้อมกับวิถีชีวิตร่วมสมัย
