Yayoi Kusama — the artist who lived to the age of 97 — once said:
“Since I find a refuge in my work, I cannot be bullied by men.”
For the six years that Vida has practiced Mandala Dot Painting here on Koh Samui, Yayoi Kusama has been one of the stories she has shared with her customers again and again — her philosophy, her art, and the way a woman chose to live life on her own terms.
To Vida, her art was never just about dots… It was filled with courage, endurance, and the refusal to let life decide who she should be.
Today, Yayoi Kusama — a person the world will never forget — has journeyed onward into her new world at the age of 97.
But her story will continue to live on — through artists, through people who love art, and through ordinary people who are still trying to create a world of their own.
Thank you, Yayoi-san… for the inspiration you have given me throughout all these years. 🙏🤍

Art doesn't teach us to be perfect.
It teaches us to see the beauty in every step of the journey.
Every mandala dot tells its own story.
No masterpiece has ever begun with perfection.
Every dot we paint brings a moment of peace, a quiet moment where we can simply be with ourselves.
Sometimes, happiness doesn't come from waiting for the perfect moment.
It comes from creating meaning in every moment we are given.

ศิลปะ... ไม่ได้สอนให้เราเป็นคนที่สมบูรณ์แบบ
แต่สอนให้เราเห็นความงดงาม

ทุกจุดดอท​แมนดาลา... ก็มีเรื่องราวของมัน!
​ไม่มีผลงานชิ้นใดหรอกค่ะ ที่จะเริ่มต้นจากความสมบูรณ์แบบ
