Where the River Dreams
Beneath the cliffs, the waters glide
A little boat moves with the tide
The mountain stands in mist and gray
While willow branches bow and sway
Three travelers drift where currents flow
With nowhere urgent left to go
The oars dip softly, stroke by stroke
Through silver water, drifting smoke
Above, the ancient mountains rise
Their shadow reaching toward the skies
Below, the river holds its breath
And carries every sound to death
No crowded road, no city's call
Just stone and sky and silence all
The boat slips slowly out of sight
And day dissolves in fading light
Perhaps the journey's deepest art
Is knowing when to still the heart
To let the river choose the way
And simply drift into the day
