🏛️ เปิดแฟ้มเอกสารเก่า เล่าเรื่อง “บ้านพักผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาลแมคคอร์มิค ”
📖 รายงานแผนอนุรักษ์อาคารนายแพทย์เอ็ดวิน ซี. คอร์ท ค.ศ. 2013 (พ.ศ. 2556) โดยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิฑูรย์ เหลียวรุ่งเรือง คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ เป็นหนึ่งในเอกสารสำคัญที่บันทึกข้อมูลด้านประวัติศาสตร์ สถาปัตยกรรม และแนวทางการอนุรักษ์อาคาร “พิพิธภัณฑ์หมอเจ้าฟ้า ในพระราชูปถัมภ์ฯ”
🔎 หนึ่งในรายละเอียดที่น่าสนใจจากการสำรวจ คือ “ห้องใต้หลังคา” ซึ่งยังคงเผยให้เห็นโครงสร้างดั้งเดิมของอาคาร
🏠 โครงสร้างหลังคาแบบโครงถัก (Truss)
สันนิษฐานว่าเป็นการผสมผสานเทคนิคการก่อสร้างแบบตะวันตกเข้ากับภูมิปัญญาของช่างพื้นถิ่น โดยโครงสร้างสำคัญหลายส่วน เช่น จันทัน ดั้ง อัสเส แป และระแนง ยังคงอยู่ในสภาพค่อนข้างดี
🪵 ส่วนฝ้าเพดานเป็น ฝ้าไม้แป้น ที่ยังคงความสวยงามและแข็งแรง แม้จะพบการผุและชำรุดเพียงบางส่วน
🌟ที่น่าสนใจเป็นพิเศษ คือบริเวณใต้หลังคายังพบ ปล่องควันเตาผิงก่ออิฐขนาดใหญ่ สะท้อนให้เห็นรูปแบบการใช้สอยและวิถีชีวิตของผู้คนในอดีต
นอกจากนี้ การสำรวจยังพบสิ่งของและชิ้นส่วนต่าง ๆ ที่หลงเหลืออยู่ เช่น
• ชุดขาตั้งไม้สำหรับราวตากผ้า
• โครงไม้เตียงขนาดเล็ก
• โครงประตูและหน้าต่างมุ้งลวด
• ลำไม้ไผ่ขนาดใหญ่
• ฝาไม้
• ก้อนอิฐมอญสำหรับก่อปล่องควันเตาผิง
✨ สิ่งเหล่านี้อาจดูเป็นเพียง “รายละเอียดเล็ก ๆ” ของอาคาร แต่เมื่อพิจารณาร่วมกัน กลับช่วยบอกเล่าเรื่องราวของ อาคาร ผู้คน เทคโนโลยีการก่อสร้าง และวิถีชีวิตในอดีต ได้อย่างมีคุณค่า จากบ้านพักของอดีตผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาล สู่การเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ด้าน ประวัติศาสตร์การแพทย์ สถาปัตยกรรม และมรดกวัฒนธรรมล้านนา
📍 พิพิธภัณฑ์หมอเจ้าฟ้า ในพระราชูปถัมภ์ฯ
เพราะการอนุรักษ์อาคาร ไม่ได้รักษาไว้เพียง “ตัวอาคาร”
แต่คือการรักษา เรื่องราวและความทรงจำที่อยู่ภายในอาคาร ให้คนรุ่นต่อไปได้เรียนรู้

📖 The Conservation Plan Report for Dr. Edwin C. Court’s Residence (2013 / 2556 B.E.) By Professor Dr.Vitul Lieorungruang , Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University.
This serves as one of the key documents recording historical, architectural, and conservation guidelines for the "Doctor Prince Museum under Royal Patronage."
🔎 One of the most fascinating details from the survey is the "attic," which still reveals the original structural framework of the building.
🏠 Truss Roof Structure:
It is hypothesized to be a blending of Western construction techniques with local artisan wisdom. Several key structural components—such as rafters, king posts, tie beams, purlins, and roof laths—remain in relatively good condition.
🪵 Ceiling:
The ceiling features wooden boards that retain their beauty and structural integrity, with only minor areas showing decay or damage.
🌟 Of Particular Interest:
Beneath the roof, a large brick fireplace chimney was discovered, reflecting the lifestyle and living patterns of people in the past.
Additionally, the survey uncovered various remaining objects and artifacts, such as:
•Wooden frames for clothes drying racks
•Small wooden bed frames
•Window and screen door frames
•Large bamboo poles
•Wooden wall panels
•Red clay bricks used for constructing the fireplace chimney
✨ These may seem like mere "minor details" of the building, but when considered together, they collectively narrate the valuable stories of the architecture, the people, construction technologies, and past ways of life.
From the residence of a former hospital director
to a learning center for the history of medicine, architecture, and Lanna cultural heritage.

Because building conservation is not just about preserving the "physical structure,"
but rather preserving
the stories and memories held within it, for future generations to learn from.
