21 กันยายน วันคล้ายวันเกิด ศาสตราจารย์พิเศษเฉลิม นาคีรักษ์ ศิลปินแห่งชาติ สาขาทัศนศิลป์ (จิตรกรรม) ปี 2531

เฉลิมเกิดเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2460 และเติบโตที่จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี เป็นศิลปินคนสำคัญของวงการจิตรกรรมไทย ผู้ถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวของประเพณี วัฒนธรรม และวิถีชีวิตไทยผ่านผลงานที่มีเอกลักษณ์

ผลงานหลายชิ้นเกิดจากการเดินทางและสเก็ตช์ภาพจากเหตุการณ์จริง ก่อนนำมาถ่ายทอดผ่านเส้น สีแบน และจังหวะที่อ่อนช้อย ตัวละครในภาพเต็มไปด้วยชีวิตชีวาและการเคลื่อนไหว ทำให้ผู้ชมรู้สึกราวกับได้เข้าไปอยู่ในเหตุการณ์นั้นจริง ๆ

September 21 marks the birthday of the late Adjunct Professor Chalerm Nakiraks, National Artist in Visual Arts (Painting), 1988.

Born in 1917 and raised in Ubon Ratchathani, Chalerm became an important figure in Thai painting, known for capturing Thai traditions, culture, and everyday life.

Many of his works began with sketches made during his travels and observations of real-life scenes. Through graceful lines, flat colors, and lively figures, he created paintings filled with movement, warmth, and the energy of everyday life.

Three artists, three perspectives within TRANSVERSE: Navigating Emerging Thai Art.

Hear from Thanarat Siripidej, Wansavang Yensabaidee, and Supmanee Chaisansuk as they share the ideas and creative processes behind their works.

Thanarat explores the traditional Thai Sak Yant tattoos, Wansavang’s experimental process using oil, wax, and improvisation, Supmanee’s reflection on the relationship between humanity and the Earth, each artist approaches contemporary experience through a distinct visual language.

Together, their works offer different perspectives within the evolving landscape of contemporary Thai art.

ศาสตราจารย์ไพฑูรย์มีบทบาทสำคัญต่อพัฒนาการของประติมากรรมไทย จากงานในแนวอุดมคติสู่การสร้างสรรค์ในรูปแบบที่มีความเป็นสากลมากขึ้น โดยมีศาสตราจารย์ศิลป์ พีระศรี เป็นบุคคลสำคัญที่มีอิทธิพลต่อการเรียนรู้และเส้นทางศิลปะของท่าน

วันนี้ MOCA BANGKOK ชวนทุกคนมาชมผลงานของศาสตราจารย์ไพฑูรย์ ผ่านห้องนิทรรศการที่รวบรวมผลงานประติมากรรมของท่านให้ได้ชมอย่างใกล้ชิด

September 17 marks the birthday of Professor Paitun Muangsomboon, National Artist in Visual Arts (Sculpture), 1986, and one of the important senior sculptors in Thai art.

Professor Paitun played an important role in the development of Thai sculpture, moving from traditional idealized forms toward a more universal artistic approach. Professor Silpa Bhirasri was also an important influence on his artistic education and journey.

MOCA BANGKOK invites you to discover more about Professor Paitun through a dedicated exhibition space featuring a selection of his sculptures.

Roby Dwi Antono เป็นศิลปินร่วมสมัยชาวอินโดนีเซีย เกิดในปี 2533 ปัจจุบันอาศัยและทำงานอยู่ที่เมืองยอกยาการ์ตา ประเทศอินโดนีเซีย และเป็นศิลปินที่จะมาจัดแสดงนิทรรศการเดี่ยว SUDO RUNGU : Echoes of Fire ที่ MOCA BANGKOK ระหว่างวันที่ 27 ตุลาคม 2569 – 3 มกราคม 2570

Roby พัฒนาการทำงานศิลปะด้วยตนเองจากการวาดภาพ ภาพประกอบ และงานออกแบบกราฟิก ก่อนพัฒนาไปสู่จิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม และศิลปะการจัดวาง ผลงานของศิลปินได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากความทรงจำในวัยเด็ก นิทานพื้นบ้าน วัฒนธรรมสมัยนิยม และประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว โดยมักปรากฏภาพเด็ก กระต่าย สิ่งมีชีวิตคล้ายมนุษย์ และตัวละครจากโลกในจินตนาการ

Roby เคยจัดนิทรรศการเดี่ยวกับ Almine Rech ที่บรัสเซลส์ ลอนดอน และปารีส รวมถึงนำเสนอผลงานในพิพิธภัณฑ์และมหกรรมศิลปะในเอเชีย ยุโรป และสหรัฐอเมริกา ในปี 2569 เขาได้รับเชิญเป็น Commissioned Artist ของ ARTJOG: ARS LONGA: GENERATIO ที่ยอกยาการ์ตา

Roby Dwi Antono is an Indonesian contemporary artist, born in 1990 and currently living and working in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He is the artist of our upcoming solo exhibition SUDO RUNGU : Echoes of Fire at MOCA BANGKOK, on view from October 27, 2026 – January 3, 2027.

A self-taught artist, Roby began with drawing, illustration, and graphic design before expanding his practice into painting, sculpture, and installation. His work draws on childhood memories, folklore, popular culture, and personal experience, often featuring children, rabbits, humanoid figures, and mythological beings within imagined worlds.

Roby has presented solo exhibitions with Almine Rech in Brussels, London, and Paris, and his work has been shown at museums and international art fairs across Asia, Europe, and the United States. In 2026, he was invited as the Commissioned Artist for ARTJOG: ARS LONGA: GENERATIO in Yogyakarta.

Those who have visited MOCA BANGKOK may remember one of the first sights that greets them, the sculpture of Professor Silpa Bhirasri standing prominently in the Atrium, alongside a short phrase on the wall.

“ศิลปะ” สำหรับ ประเทือง เอมเจริญ ศิลปินแห่งชาติ สาขาทัศนศิลป์ (จิตรกรรม) ปี 2548 หมายถึงจิตวิญญาณอันละเอียดอ่อนของมนุษย์ ทั้งการหยั่งรู้ จินตนาการ และสัญชาตญาณที่อยู่ภายในตัวเรา

ประเทือง เอมเจริญ พูดถึงการสร้างงานศิลปะว่า เราต้องปล่อยให้ธรรมชาติดำเนินไปพร้อมกับการเคลื่อนไหวของเราอย่างอิสระ เพราะสิ่งสำคัญของความเป็นมนุษย์ คือ “ความมีชีวิต”

“อย่าเดินผ่านเพียงเพราะภาพเล็ก”

ในวีดีโอนี้ คุณบุญชัยพาชม 2 ผลงานขนาดเล็กที่อยากชวนให้หยุดมองใกล้ ๆ

ภาพแรกเป็นผลงานของ Auguste Toulmouche ศิลปินชาวฝรั่งเศส ผู้มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับช่วงเริ่มต้นเส้นทางศิลปะของ Claude Monet คุณบุญชัยชวนสังเกตความสามารถของศิลปินในการถ่ายทอดอารมณ์บนใบหน้า เสื้อผ้า และรายละเอียดของฉากหลังได้อย่างสวยงาม

อีกหนึ่งภาพเป็นผลงานของ Pompeo Massani ศิลปินชาวอิตาลี ที่โดดเด่นในการถ่ายทอดตัวละครสูงวัย เมื่อมองใกล้ ๆ จะเห็นรายละเอียดของริ้วรอยบนใบหน้าที่แตกต่างจากเด็กสาวข้าง ๆ อย่างชัดเจน

นอกจากนี้ ภายในภาพยังมีรายละเอียดของเสื้อผ้า สิ่งของ และการมองภาพผ่านแว่นขยายเล็ก ๆ ที่ช่วยเล่าให้เราเห็นถึงวิถีชีวิตและรสนิยมของผู้คนในยุคนั้น

ภาพอาจจะเล็ก แต่ยิ่งเข้าไปดูใกล้ ๆ ก็ยิ่งมีเรื่องราวให้ค้นพบ

“Don’t walk past a painting just because it’s small.”

In this video, Mr. Boonchai introduces two small paintings that are worth a closer look.

The first is a work by French artist Auguste Toulmouche, who was connected to the early artistic development of Claude Monet. Mr. Boonchai invites us to notice how beautifully Toulmouche captures facial expressions, clothing, and the details of the surrounding scene.

The next work is by Italian artist Pompeo Massani, known for his ability to portray elderly figures. Look closely and you can see the details of age in the man’s face, creating a clear contrast with the young girl beside him.

The clothing, objects, and even the small magnifying glass used to look at a painting also give us a glimpse into the lifestyle and tastes of people from that time.

Small paintings can hold much more than we might expect, sometimes, we just need to look a little closer.

บางครั้ง ภาพวาดขนาดเล็กก็ซ่อนเรื่องราวน่ารัก ๆ เอาไว้ให้เราได้สังเกต

ในวีดีโอนี้ คุณบุญชัยพาชมผลงานขนาดเล็กของศิลปินจากหลายประเทศ เริ่มจาก Anton Lauritz Johannes Dorph ศิลปินชาวเดนมาร์ก ที่ปกติมักสร้างผลงานสำหรับโบสถ์ วิหาร และพระราชวัง แต่ภาพนี้กลับเผยอีกมุมหนึ่งที่ดูขี้เล่นและมีอารมณ์ขัน

เมื่อมองใกล้ ๆ จะเห็นเด็กน้อยที่ทำตุ๊กตาตกลงไป แต่ตัวเองไม่สามารถออกจากบ้านได้ จึงพยายามขอให้หญิงสาวที่เดินผ่านมาช่วยเก็บให้ เป็นเหตุการณ์เล็ก ๆ ที่ศิลปินถ่ายทอดออกมาได้อย่างน่ารัก

ต่อด้วยผลงานของ Percy Tarrant ศิลปินชาวอังกฤษ กับภาพหญิงสาวกำลังเก็บดอกไม้ท่ามกลางบรรยากาศฤดูใบไม้ผลิ ด้านหลังมีทั้งบ่อน้ำและเรือ ทำให้ภาพดูราวกับเป็นฉากหนึ่งในความฝัน

สองภาพเล็ก สองเรื่องราว และรายละเอียดที่ชวนให้เราเข้าไปมองใกล้ ๆ

Sometimes, small paintings can hide charming little stories in their details.

In this video, Mr. Boonchai introduces smaller works by artists from different countries, beginning with Danish artist Anton Lauritz Johannes Dorph. While Dorph was better known for works created for churches, cathedrals, and palaces, this painting shows a more playful and humorous side of the artist.

Look closely and you’ll see a young kid who has dropped his doll but cannot go outside to pick it up. He tries to ask a young woman passing by for help, turning a simple everyday moment into a charming scene.

The next work is by British artist Percy Tarrant, showing a young woman gathering flowers in a spring setting. With water and a boat in the background, the scene feels almost like a dream.

Two small paintings, two different stories, and plenty of details worth looking at closely.
