Fleur Schell's wall sculpture titled 'She’s a Secret, a Beautiful Little Secret' is a story about friendship 👧🐔🦊✨
By the edge of a rambling farm
lived Clementine the hen,
who outwitted every fox
again and yet again.
Beside a weathered cottage
lived Rowan Red the fox,
in a clever plaid-lined jumper
with silver cufflink clocks.
His polished shoes stepped soft as smoke,
his crisp white collar neat;
he bowed before the chicken coop
with careful, quiet feet.
But Clementine belonged to Heidi,
a muddy, fearless child
who climbed the barn, chased thunderstorms,
and laughed when nights ran wild.
One evening Rowan came to scheme,
his amber eyes aglow.
“A perfect plan,” the fox declared
beneath the moonlit glow.
“You’re late,” the sharp-eyed hen replied.
Then tearing through the yard
came Heidi with untied-up boots
and pockets stuffed with cards.
“A fox in such a handsome suit!
Come help me search for clues—
for secrets hidden past the creek
where silver settles dew.”
The fox blinked twice. The hen just clucked.
The child held out warm pie.
And underneath the painted stars,
the three became allies.
And Heidi softly whispered then,
when neighbours asked her why:
“She’s a secret, a beautiful little secret—
the cleverest of us friends.”
