The Crate The Crate is an experimental art gallery in Singapore for the ambiguous world of contemporary art. It is meant to hold boundaries for artists to push their own.

The Crate is a personal initiative, a new space for arts that was re-purposed from under-utilized workshop/storage space of Mettle Work, a co-working maker-space and arts house founded in 2013. Housed in a metal warehouse built in 1984 at a quaint corner of the industrial side of Geylang, the space enjoys a unique raw and rustic charm. eedom for others. It is an independent arts space supporting experimental showcases and activities for the arts. Its non-polished environment provides affordable spaces and exhibition freedom for contemporary artists to hold their shows here outside of traditional galleries and their strict policies. Its whatever-goes attitude also afforded it the characteristics of a creative ground for the budding and established avant-garde artists.
