DECK Photography Art Centre Ltd. (Singapore) is a non-profit organisation championing photography arts, visual literacy and cultural exchange.

A communal art space for people to gather in the name of art and photography. DECK is a physical manifestation of how photography transcends time and space (Discovery), sparks conversation (Engagement), brings people together (Community) and conveys information (Knowledge). These makes up the acronym D.E.C.K.. Housed within 20 modified shipping containers, DECK pushes the boundary of photography with curated year-round exhibitions, cultivates the understanding of medium through its research-based projects, and supports the community with its photobook library, school education programmes, artist residency programmes, and analogue darkroom House of Photography (HOP). DECK’s photobook library consists of 3,823 donated publications and artist handmade books, of which 1,600 books were generously donated by Steidl Publishing in 2016.

Open Call for UNDESCRIBED #12 is now open!

For the 12th edition, we are pleased to welcome back Robert Zhao Renhui (Robert Zhao Renhui), whose practice sits at the intersection of art, science and environmental history, alongside Alecia Neo (Alecia), whose socially engaged practice centres on community, care, dialogue and participation.

UNDESCRIBED goes beyond exhibition-making – providing a space for emerging artists to experiment, develop new work, exchange ideas, receive critical feedback, and build connections within the arts community.

In the blink of an eye, it's been four months since Undescribed #11 opened! A huge thank you to everyone who came down to see the works, or joined us for either of our programmes. ❤️

Before the exhibition concludes its run tomorrow, we asked Cavin Lim, Jay Lim, Lydia Koh, Syed Abdullah and Zhixin Sheng to share a little about their work, and the one picture in the exhibition that holds the most significance for them.

An invitation to look deeper, join artist Gilles Massot (Gilles Massot) for an introduction to Singapore Baraoke, a conceptual framework born from his acclaimed The Coffee Shop Series.
