The Museum of Independent Music Singapore (MOIM) was an educational & archival space about Singapore’s independent music scene. The first of its kind in the country, its mission was to establish a lifelong legacy on local music culture for future generations and to help nurture and promote local artists. Its aim was to be a gathering point for music lovers of all genr
es, providing a platform for music culture in Singapore. The museum highlighted the experiential and contemporary aspects of the local music scene with video documentaries, artefacts and memorabilia, and music inspired art pieces. At the museum, visitors got to understand how the DIY spirit in local music is developed; from how the bands market themselves to producing their own merchandise. Visitors were also able to get their hands on all local cassettes, CDs, vinyl records and play them. Learn more about the history of local music from past to present; know the beginning of music culture in Singapore from the 60s and its influence on the locals back then. General Information:
