🤖 Just because AI can, does that mean AI should?

Bill Gates believes the choices we make now will determine whether AI becomes an extraordinary equaliser or a source of even greater inequality.

Among the ideas he explores is something he calls “Human Reserved”: deliberately preserving certain roles for people, even when technology becomes capable of taking over.

An interesting perspective on a question that is only going to get more complicated.

AI will either be the greatest equalizer ever invented, or the worst source of injustice. We need to start planning now so it makes the world a fairer place.

🤖 Everyone seems to be talking about what AI can do.

We’re more interested in what role we actually want AI to play.

As galleries gain access to increasingly sophisticated technology, the sky is the limit, particularly for smaller independent businesses like ours.

We’re enthusiastic adopters. We’re also discovering that having the ability to automate something doesn’t make it the smart choice.

So, where does Addicted draw the line?

AI is changing what galleries can do, and we’re already putting the technology to work. The more interesting question isn’t whether AI belongs in the gallery, but where useful assistance ends and something altogether different begins.
