From exploring Hill Street's rich heritage to crafting miniature kopitiam breakfast favourites, 11 July was a day of discovery and creativity at SCBCH!

The day began with our Hill Street Heritage Trail, where participants explored landmarks such as the Armenian Church and SCCCI Building, discovering the stories that have shaped Singapore's heritage and business history.

Later that morning, our Food Clay Workshop welcomed 20 participants, who recreated Singapore's iconic breakfast set using clay, including kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and a cup of kopi. The workshop was filled with creativity, laughter, and the joy of bringing these miniature creations to life. A special thank you to FloraClaySG (Est. Jan 2006) for leading such an engaging and enjoyable workshop.

From sojourners to citizens.

For many early immigrants, Singapore was a place to work and build a future. But for years, many who had lived here and called Singapore home were still not recognised as Singapore citizens and had limited political rights.

Swipe through to discover how the journey towards citizenship unfolded, the role played by the Chamber in supporting citizenship registration efforts, and how these collective efforts helped shape Singapore's nation-building story.

Today, citizenship is more than a legal status. It represents belonging, identity and a shared commitment to the nation we call home.

From remembering the past to preserving cultural traditions, 20 June was a meaningful day of learning and discovery at the Chamber.

Participants explored Singapore's wartime past through our Eternal Vigilance Tour, visiting landmarks such as the Civilian War Memorial and learning more about the stories behind them.

Later, 20 participants from different age groups joined our Chinese Calligraphy Workshop, where they tried their hand at brush writing and discovered the charm of this traditional art form.

We also welcomed over 120 attendees to the public talk 《遇见120：新加坡中华总商会双甲子年之回顾与反思》 at the National Library, where participants reflected on SCCCI's 120-year journey and its contributions to Singapore's development.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to seeing you at our future programmes!
