SCCCI is widely known for its contributions to Singapore’s business and trade landscape. But did you know it also played an important role in shaping Singapore’s cultural scene?

From the pre-war period to Singapore’s early years of independence, the Chamber actively promoted the Chinese language, culture and arts, helping to preserve and strengthen the cultural heritage of the local Chinese community.

Join us for our June's public talk and uncover a lesser-known side of SCCCI’s history, while exploring its contributions to Chinese culture through the decades.

Last Friday (22 May), 15 interns from the Chamber visited Business China and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC). During the visit to Business China, the interns explored the growing importance of Singapore-China connections alongside bicultural understanding and were introduced to Business China's youth programmes.

In the afternoon, they visited the SCCC's permanent exhibition, SINGAPO人, to better understand the distinct and everchanging Chinese Singaporean identity. The interns were also hosted by the CEO of the SCCC, Alvin Tan, who explained the crucial role of the SCCC in promoting Singaporean Chinese culture and the SCCC's programmes and initiatives.

The interns ended their day with a tea ceremony session at Tea Chapter, where they reflected about their learning experiences.

The visits were organised for interns under the Chamber's Internship Award to learn and explore more about the Chinese community and its organisations in Singapore. The Chamber remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders and promote the Chinese Entrepreneurial Spirit. We would like to thank Business China , the SCCC , and Tea Chapter .chapter for their kind hospitality!

The 1959 Singapore Constitution Exposition, organised by the Chamber (then the “Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce”, now known as the “Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry”), marked the pivotal milestone of Singapore’s internal self-governance.

As the first of its kind in Singapore and the largest exhibition ever held in the Southeast Asia region at the time, the Exposition embodied the Chamber’s vision of enterprise, innovation, and national progress.

Did you get your hands on our free exclusive enamel pins? 👀✨

A big thank you to everyone who brought the excitement to our booth at the inaugural SG Chinese FUNFest Carnival (文Fun节嘉年华), held from 25 to 26 April 2026 at Punggol Coast Mall, organised by SPH Media’s Chinese Media Group to promote Chinese literature and culture.

Over the two days, participants who came by our booth learnt about SCCCI and SCBCH’s events, spun a gacha to win an enamel pin inspired by our Chamber’s history, and explored our Chamber’s building history through a fun stamp activity!

Heartfelt thanks to SPH Media’s Chinese Media Group for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful event! 🎉

For those who missed our pins, sign up for our outdoor tours for a chance to bring home a pin! While stocks last!
