When the sky opens up

In this painting I wanted to capture that very moment when something greater touches us.
When darkness no longer has the last word, but light breaks through – softly but powerfully.

For me, “When the Sky Opens” is about hope, faith, love and that quiet certainty that we are carried, even when life is stormy. The colors move like a spiritual wind through the canvas – as if the sky is pulling back the curtain for a little while.

This work is painted for those of you who long for more light, more presence and a reminder that there is an opening, even when everything feels closed.

The Crucifixion – The Heavens Opened

While working on this painting, I initially only knew that I was painting light and darkness, an earthquake, and a sky that is bursting.
In the middle of the process, I was only going to take a little white paint. When I opened the can, the paint had dried around the edge. I pulled it off like a piece of skin – and there in my hand was a shape that looked exactly like a crown of thorns. At that moment, a cold but holy rush ran through me.
Then the realization also came: the painting in front of me was not just any abstract sky. It was Golgotha – the crucifixion, the earth shaking, and the wounds of heaven all at once.
For me, all of this became like a quiet whisper: You are inside something bigger than just a painting.
This work is my testimony of that moment when both heaven and earth react to the cross – the moment in Matthew 27:45–56, when the earth shakes, darkness falls over the land, and the heavens open.

Noah's Ark – a painting about hope, courage and a new beginning.

When I created this piece, I thought about moments in life when everything feels stormy, but there is still a place of security and hope. The colors symbolize both the chaos and the light that always finds its way, even when the sky is dark.

For me, 'Noah's Ark' is about the courage to dare to believe in a new beginning, even when everything feels uncertain. It is a celebration of the inner strength we all carry – the ability to rise, find the light and create something new from what has been. Each brushstroke is a reminder that we can find our own way through the storm.

I hope that this painting can mean something to you – perhaps as a symbol of your own journey, or as a reminder that hope is always there, even when life tests us the most.

In the beginning there was only darkness – until light broke through and everything became possible.

'The Light of Creation' is my interpretation of the moment when the universe was born. Here the Big Bang of science meets the spiritual story of 'Light Became'. The colors dance across the canvas like cosmic waves, where every brushstroke carries hope, mystery and the power to create something from nothing.

This work is a reminder that we all carry an inner light – a spark of creation, change and infinite potential.

Passage towards eternity

In this painting I have chosen to depict the spiritual journey from darkness to light. The color scale – from dark blue, through brown, orange and yellow, to white – symbolizes hope, transformation and the meeting between earth and sky. The cloud formations open up towards eternity, and the light breaks through as a reminder that we are never alone in the darkness.
It is a tribute to the belief that light is always there, and that every step towards it is a passage towards eternity.

The Fire of Silence

There is a fire that burns silently within us – a glow that is not visible, but which warms and carries us through the vicissitudes of life. This painting is my interpretation of that very fire: the one that is born from stillness, but which still shines brightly.

I have let the colors dance between soft pink tones and warm orange shades, where the darkness at the bottom gives way to the power of light. For me, this is a tribute to the inner strength we all carry, even when we are at our most vulnerable.

The Resurrection

In this painting I wanted to capture the moment when everything turns.
In moments, when the night is at its deepest, the longing for something more is born – a whisper that the light is still waiting, beyond the horizon.

"Resurrection" is my interpretation of this journey. From the black, where everything begins and ends, I let the colors slowly awaken. Brown – like the warm embrace of the earth, orange – like the glow of a new day, yellow – like the first ray of the sun on the skin. And finally, white – the pure, the free, that which carries the promise of a new beginning.

For me, resurrection is not just about religious faith, but about the universal power to rise again – to dare to believe in change, to let the light slowly return even when it feels impossible.
I hope that you as a viewer see your own journey reflected in the transition of colors. Perhaps the painting awakens a longing, a comfort or just a quiet reminder that the light is always there.
