The museum of furniture studies opened in Stockholm in February 2018 by the founders and design duo Kersti Sandin & Lars Bülow. The museum exhibits the two designers private collection of over 800 design furnitures from more than 300 designers around the world, one of Europe’s largest private design collections open to the public. The aim of the museum is to inspire an interest in the study of fur

niture. It is targeted mainly at those studying design, architecture and crafts, but will also be of interest to professionals working in these fields and to anyone with an interest in design.

Be part of the Museum of Furniture Studies next chapter!

As part of our journey to establish the Museum of Furniture Studies in Älmhult, we are seeking passionate individuals to join us as we re-launch and continue our mission.

Together, we aim to inspire and educate students and young professionals in architecture, design, and craftsmanship, while making the museum’s vision and collection accessible to the public once again.

News - Ex-Works 25 with IKEA and the furniture industry!

The Museum of Furniture Studies continues to highlight design students and their work – now alongside IKEA and the furniture industry with the Ex-Works program. The initiative aims to share knowledge, showcase student projects, and foster important meetings between young designers and industry players.

Ex-Works 25 opens on 4 June in Älmhult, which is now continuing movements towards a design destination. At this time we will also offer a pop-up exhibition of Classics & Icons.
