ISSUES presents a solo show with Jim Thorell. Known for his paintings created instinctively and employing the full lengths of his limbs we will now see new works made in an entirely different format. A series of eight water colors sharing the measurements of the National Geographic magazine show night and day in a visual micro- or megacosm. The pencil and ink drawings show bursts of matter and energy as well as a man on fire and a bewinged hero. The drawings and watercolors are accompanied by a tiny prince, an accordion player, an angel and a couple of cats, all carved in wood. The artworks for this show were created both in- and outside Jim’s studio, in the intimacy of his fathom.

Magnus Andersen:
Hvis en Gädde dukker up, er det ikke altid bedst at være Først
21/04/2026–16/05/2026

ISSUES is delighted to present an exhibition with Danish artist Magnus Andersen. The new pictures and ceramic sculptures form another iteration of Damdramaer, Pond Dramas, where little ducklings are persistently pursued by pikes, who lurk and attack from below. As the Danish title of the show suggests, in a row of ducks, the first one is taking the highest risk by being the most exposed. If looked at through the eyes of fairy tale author H.C. Andersen, the drama unfolds in a humanly relatable way.
