Many, many years ago, in The Romania of Kings and Queens,
the Gassner lineage arrived from the High Lands. Though the name would, in time, u
ndergo certain changes,
its meaning preserved the same noble resonance:
The Wayweavers
In their ancestral past, the Gassners were among the first bookbinders,
artisans who studied, guarded, and carried forward the refined tradition
of Florentine craftsmanship. The ecclesiastical books, made centuries ago,
were bound in hand-tooled leather covers, sculpted and assembled by the hands of
The Forefathers of the Gassner family. From The High Lands to Transylvania and Bucharest
The Gassners came to The Kingdom of Romania several centuries ago,
first settling in Transylvania, where They had established Workshops for all kinds of Leathercraft,
especially for harnesses and horse accessories. The first Gassner leathercraft workshop that was opened in Bucharest,
was the only one in Romania in those times,
because the other workshops who had earlier been working in Transylvania were closed
when They decided to come to Bucharest. They decided to come to Bucharest,
because their sublime mastery was far too exalted for that region to grasp,
and They were the only Masters in Europe who possessed the Art of The Traditional LeatherCraft at that singular level. This is why, they became the sole suppliers of harnesses and other accessories
for The Royal House of Romania. Travel through Time
Although The Age of The Kingdom of Romania eventually decayed,
the LeatherCraft Traditions of The Gassners endured
even under the new political regime that came to power. Thus, during the 1970s and 1980s, we find them once again
as the sole suppliers of leather creations
for The President's Office and The First Lady's Office,
being the only luxury leather artisans from that period
who still possessed the knowledge of Florentine binding. To this day, a collection of works created by the Gazner family is exhibited at Primăverii Palace. Global BrosNor is the Legacy of The Gassner Lineage's Heritage
