______________

We often view objects as mere tools or resources, overlooking their inherent autonomy. While humans shape objects, they cannot fully control or understand them. Objects exist beyond their functional purpose, inviting us to engage with them on their own terms.

In case of the exhibtion „return to sender“, the address is clear. It is the Romanian capital Bucharest. Just over a year ago, Alexandra Luermann, Alparslan Öztürk, Finn Brücher, Helen Lüth, Josephine Kowalewsky, Jonas Glanz, Lina Dannemann, Mika Springer, Ragna Arndt-Marić, Steffen Niers, Stephanie Schüttler and Vincent Hölscher, students at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (HSBI), went on an 10-day-excursion to Bucharest together with Prof. Roman Bezjak. A city between East and West. The photographic search for traces led the students through the multifaceted architecture of the city, into local communities, behind the facades of the Ceausescu era and from the edge to the center.

In collaboration with SiwtchLab and in exchange with students from the Bucharest National Academy of Art, the Bielefeld students are now showing their work from 24.07. - 28.08.24
