Aqua Est Vita
Bienale of Textile Miniatures in Thread Technique,
II Edition, 2026 -2027
Artists from all fields of visual arts are invited to participate: textiles, ceramics, metal, glass, mixed media.
The exhibition of textile miniatures made in thread technique, with the theme WATER IS LIFE, proposes an artistic exploration of the relationship between water and human, natural and spiritual existence.
The exhibition brings to the forefront thread – sewn, embroidered, woven or applied, modeled, without any restriction on the materials used. Thread becomes a visual language that evokes the fluidity, movement and vital essence of water, a unique perspective on water as a source of life, as a purifying element, as a force of nature or as a symbol of continuity and regeneration.
Beyond aesthetics, the theme invites reflection on the importance of water in everyday life and on the collective responsibility to protect it. The miniatures thus become not only artistic objects, but also visual messages with ecological and educational values.
Overall, the exhibition "Water is Life" creates an intimate and contemplative space, in which the detail and meticulousness of the various techniques used intertwine with a universal message about balance, sustainability and interconnection, and art, a vector of significance for a social and cultural endeavor.
The first edition of the International Exhibition of Textile Miniatures in the Thread Technique, organized in 2024, brought together artists from 16 countries, from 3 continents and was the starting point of an artistic endeavor aimed at cultural connections and affinities between artists from all over the world.
The organizers of the "Miniature in Thread Technique -AQUQ EST VITA -exhibition aim to bring together the community of artists from the field of decorative arts who create using the unfolding form of thread, in textiles as well as in ceramics, glass, metal, or mixed techniques.
