PT | No ano em que se assinala o centenário do nascimento de Artur Bual (1926–1999), a Perve Galeria e a Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny convidam para a inauguração da exposição "100 Obras para Artur Bual: Homenagem ao Pioneiro Gestualista Português".
Esta exposição constitui a homenagem da Perve Galeria a uma das figuras mais marcantes da arte portuguesa do século XX. Muito antes da criação do Colectivo Multimédia Perve – Associação de Arte e Cultura, entidade responsável pela direção artística destas duas instituições, Artur Bual mantinha já uma relação de amizade e de grande proximidade artística com os seus fundadores. Ao longo de vários anos partilharam projetos, ideias, experiências e um compromisso comum com a arte contemporânea, conferindo a esta homenagem um significado particularmente especial.
Com curadoria de Carlos Cabral Nunes, a exposição reúne cerca de uma centena de obras, articulando um expressivo conjunto de pinturas de Artur Bual, realizadas entre as décadas de 1950 e 1990, com trabalhos de artistas de diferentes gerações, entre os quais Mário Cesariny, Cruzeiro Seixas, Fernando Lemos e Figueiredo Sobral, entre outros.
A realização desta homenagem em Alfama reveste-se igualmente de um simbolismo muito particular, por ser o bairro onde Artur Bual instalou o seu primeiro atelier e deu início a um percurso artístico que viria a afirmar-se como um dos mais relevantes da arte portuguesa contemporânea.
Esperamos por si para celebrar a vida, a obra e o legado de um artista cuja influência permanece viva e continua a marcar sucessivas gerações de criadores.

EN | In the year marking the centenary of the birth of Artur Bual (1926–1999), Perve Galeria and Casa da Liberdade – Mário Cesariny are pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "100 Artworks for Artur Bual: A Tribute to the Portuguese Gesturalist Pioneer".
This exhibition represents Perve Galeria's tribute to one of the foremost figures of twentieth-century Portuguese art. Long before the creation of Colectivo Multimédia Perve – Association for Art and Culture, the organisation responsible for the artistic direction of both institutions, Artur Bual had already established a close friendship and artistic dialogue with its founders. Over the years, they shared ideas, projects, experimentation and a lasting commitment to contemporary art, making this tribute especially meaningful.
Curated by Carlos Cabral Nunes, the exhibition brings together around one hundred artworks, combining a significant group of paintings by Artur Bual, produced between the 1950s and the 1990s, with works by artists from different generations, including Mário Cesariny, Cruzeiro Seixas, Fernando Lemos, Figueiredo Sobral, and others.
The choice of Alfama as the venue also carries particular symbolic significance, as it was here that Artur Bual established his first studio and began the artistic path that would secure his place among the leading figures in Portuguese art.
