I was asked to do a painting of my city, Guimarães, for a commission, by someone who was born and raised here. I didn't want to do the traditional, common painting, the beautifully done buildings, the details of how exactly the ground is and all that.. I wanted a feeling, or alot of feelings.. I wanted to look at it and be able to remind myself that I was born here and that I used to walk around that same place when I was a kid, and the way I used to see it, the childish vision of all of that. This is why this painting is made like it is. And this is all I wanted, this is my way of reminding the city, and being reminded of it. Hope you enjoy it.
