No antigo Hospital Militar da Boa Nova, funciona, desde 2016, o Núcleo de História Militar Manuel Coelho Baptista de Lima, que aloja a notável Coleção de Militaria do MAH.

The Angra do Heroísmo Museum is an encyclopedic museum, with a rich and varied collection, which reflects the history and culture of the island, considering its relationship with the world, given the privileged geostrategic location of the Azores. Created in 1949, it has been housed in the former Saint Francis convent since 1969 and features three permanent exhibitions, the most significant of which, Do Mar e da Terra: uma história no Atlântico (By Sea and Land: a History in the Atlantic), occupies the entire top floor of the building. Other exhibitions include Stone Specimens and of 18th to 20th century Transports, which are available on request, as well as two other exhibition spaces dedicated to temporary exhibitions. Since 2016, the Manuel Coelho Baptista de Lima Military History Centre has been housed in the former Boa Nova Military Hospital, which houses the MAH's notable Military Collection.
