Zapraszamy na wernisaż wystawy premierowego projektu Tomka Albina "Colores Absentes", który odbędzie się 12 czerwca 2025 roku o godzinie 17:00 w galerii Szklarnia w Szkole Filmowej w Łodzi.
Colores Absentes, (z łac. Nieobecne Kolory), to osobisty projekt Tomka Albina oparty na eksperymencie. Jego genezą był cykl nocnych zdjęć Insomnia, w którym od wielu lat dokumentuje przestrzeń miejską naznaczoną ludzką obecnością. Fotograf nie podejmuje próby rekonstrukcji krajobrazów – zamiast tego przenosi do przestrzeni studia to, co stanowi przedmiot jego fascynacji: światło, tekstury i układy tworzące strukturę miast. W
swoich kompozycjach autor wykorzystuje odpady budowlane i materiały z recyklingu – rzeczy z pozoru bezwartościowe. Nadaje im nowy kontekst, modyfikując je: maluje,
zestawia ze sobą, zmienia ich tonację i formę. Kolor, który w percepcji Albina wyłamuje się z ogólnie przyjętych definicji, staje się głównym bohaterem. Niejednoznaczny,
nieoczywisty, wykraczający poza normy – staje się przedmiotem badań, wyznaczając trajektorię poszukiwań: czy istnieje tylko jedna wersja tego, co widzimy?
Colores Absentes to refleksyjna opowieść o potencjale tego, co pomijane, wątpliwe i odrzucone. Tomek Albin proponuje spojrzenie na rzeczywistość z innej perspektywy. Czy
błąd, przedstawiony w odmiennym kontekście, może ujawnić swój potencjał? Autor, kryjąc się za głównym bohaterem projektu, zaprasza do świata widzianego przez własny filtr.
Tomek Albin to artysta wizualny, fotograf i reżyser video, który łączy język sztuki z estetyką i narzędziami świata komercyjnego. Jego twórczość stanowi starannie zaplanowany i
wizualnie spójny dialog światła, detalu i znaczenia, łączący refleksję nad formą z inspiracjami płynącymi z geometrii, rzeźby i natury. Jest absolwentem Akademii Sztuk
Pięknych w Poznaniu oraz Szkoły Filmowej w Łodzi, gdzie zrealizował projekt Colores Absentes (2025) jako zwieńczenie studiów doktoranckich. Swoje prace prezentował na
wystawach zbiorowych, m.in. Out of Poland w Arena 1 w Santa Monica, USA (2019) oraz Ressemblances w Galerie HfBK Brühlsche Terrasse w Dreźnie, Niemcy (2018). Projekt
Talk Dirty to Me zaprezentował na indywidualnej wystawie w Galerii FF w Łodzi (2019). Jest laureatem branżowych nagród takich jak KTR Awards i Epica Awards. Jego twórczość
była prezentowana m.in. w magazynach Still Life Selected Views oraz Lüerzer’s Archive. Od wielu lat związany jest ze Szkołą Filmową w Łodzi jako wykładowca w Katerze
Fotografii. Prowadząc autorską pracownię, aktywnie wspiera rozwój młodych artystów. Dzielenie się wiedzą, inspirowanie i towarzyszenie nowym pokoleniom w ich drodze
twórczej stanowi dla niego integralną część działalności zawodowej.

You are cordially invited to the vernissage of the premiere exhibition of Tomek Albin’s new
project, Colores Absentes, which will take place on June 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the
Szklarnia Gallery, located at the Łódź Film School.
The exhibition is part of the SPINOFF program.
Colores Absentes, is a personal project by Tomek Albin based on experiment. It originates from his long-term photographic series Insomnia, in which he has been documenting urban spaces marked by human presence through nighttime photography. Rather than attempting to reconstruct these landscapes, Albin brings the essence of his fascination into the studio: light, textures, and configurations that form the fabric of cities. In his compositions, he uses construction waste and recycled materials—items seemingly devoid of value. He recontextualizes them by modifying, painting, juxtaposing, and altering their tones and forms. Color, as perceived by Albin, breaks away from conventional definitions and becomes the central character. Ambiguous, unexpected, and nonconforming, color becomes the subject of inquiry, charting a trajectory of exploration: Is there only one version of what we see?
Colores Absentes is a reflective narrative about the potential of what is overlooked, doubtful, or discarded. Tomek Albin invites viewers to look at reality from a different perspective. Can an error, presented in an altered context, reveal its potential? By stepping behind the protagonist of the project, the artist invites us into a world seen through his personal filter.
Tomek Albin is a visual artist, photographer, and video director who merges the language of art with the aesthetics and tools of the commercial world. His work is a carefully crafted and visually coherent dialogue of light, detail, and meaning, combining formal exploration with inspirations drawn from geometry, sculpture, and nature.
He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań and the Łódź Film School, where he developed the Colores Absentes project (2025) as the culmination of his doctoral studies. His work has been exhibited in group shows including Out of Poland at Arena 1 in Santa Monica, USA (2019), and Ressemblances at Galerie HfBK Brühlsche Terrasse in Dresden, Germany (2018). His solo exhibition Talk Dirty to Me was shown at FF Gallery in
Łódź (2019). He is a recipient of industry awards such as the KTR Awards and Epica Awards. His work
has been featured in publications such as Still Life Selected Views and Lüerzer’s Archive.
For many years, he has been associated with the Łódź Film School, where he lectures in the Department of Photography. Through his own studio, he actively supports the
development of young artists. Sharing knowledge, inspiring, and mentoring new generations is an integral part of his professional practice.
