Listen to the Creative Manager, Sana Maqsood, as she reflects on the curatorial and design journey behind bringing the exhibition to life, the creative process involved, and the challenges encountered along the way. The video also features carpenter Gulzar Hussain, whose craftsmanship helped execute the exhibit itself, as he shares what it means to contribute to a project that honours and celebrates the labour, skill, and legacy of artisans across Pakistan.

Husn-e-Hunar is grounded in the voices, memories, and generational knowledge of artisans who have tirelessly preserved Pakistan’s traditional crafts through generations. More than an exhibition, it is an effort to document the people behind the practices that continue to shape the country’s cultural identity.

Listen to Senior Project Manager of the Oral History Project, Salman Tahir, as he speaks about the research, vision, and documentation process behind the exhibit. He reflects on the critical gaps in the preservation of Pakistan’s craft histories and highlights the importance of recording artisans’ oral histories to ensure these traditions, skills, and cultural narratives endure for generations to come.

Husn-e-Hunar stands as a meaningful extension of the narratives preserved at the National History Museum, an exhibit that brings Pakistan’s living traditions, craftsmanship, and artistic legacy into conversation with history itself.

Listen to Museum Director, Awais Malik, as he reflects on the vision behind the exhibit, the significance of integrating craft practices into the museum’s existing themes, and the urgent need to preserve and celebrate the artistry that shapes Pakistan’s cultural identity.
