A glimpse into the studio of Nizakat Ali Depar, where animals become mirrors of human nature.

Depar explores identity, authority, power, and the contradictions that shape society. Borrowed Feathers brings these ideas to life through creatures that wear borrowed skins, revealing the performances we adopt and the truths hidden beneath them.

Satrang gallery is delighted to invite you to 'Borrowed Feathers', a solo show by Nizakat Ali Depar. The exhibition explores human nature, power, identity, and social contradictions through the symbolic language of animals. Drawing from literature, mythology, and cultural narratives, the artist presents animals as reflections of human behaviour, where identities shift and appearances often conceal deeper realities. Through irony, humor, and unexpected exchanges of animal skins, the works question authority, hypocrisy, and the performances of power within society.
