*Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir*
The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), organized a dignified ceremony and a special solidarity walk on August 5, 2026, to observe "Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir". The primary objective of these events, held in connection with this national day, was to express wholehearted solidarity with the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir and to support their just struggle for the right to self-determination.

During the program, a special art and photo exhibition was hosted at PNCA, informative documentaries were screened on the main lobby LEDs, and an impactful puppet show was presented in the auditorium. Banners and display boards placed across the venue effectively raised a powerful voice against gross human rights violations.

Distinguished figures and leaders addressed the gathering from the stage, commending the unwavering resolve of the Kashmiri people. Citizens and youth participated in large numbers, waving Pakistani and Azad Kashmir flags, while students carried special banners—practically demonstrating their unbreakable bond with their Kashmiri brothers under the resonant spirit that "Every drop of blood calls for freedom."

A Lifetime Tribute to Dr. Shaukat Mahmood (Late)

Pakistan National Council of the Arts, Visual Arts Division, cordially invites scholars, artists, students, and admirers to a special commemorative event honouring the extraordinary life and legacy of Prof. Dr. Shaukat Mahmood (Late).

A distinguished scholar, art historian, cartoonist, and educationist, Dr. Shaukat Mahmood devoted his life to the promotion of art, history, culture, and intellectual discourse in Pakistan. His remarkable contributions continue to inspire generations of researchers, artists, and cultural enthusiasts.

Join us this Friday for reflections, insightful talks, and heartfelt tributes by eminent scholars and distinguished speakers as we pay homage to a visionary whose work has left an enduring mark on Pakistan’s artistic and academic landscape.

The Drawing & Painting Classes of our Junior group aged 4 to 12 years continued to provide students with an engaging and creative learning experience preceding week, introducing them to innovative mixed media techniques and three-dimensional art practices.

During the first session, students were taught how to combine liquid watercolours with fine-tip black markers to create intricate pattern overlays. Under the guidance of their instructor, the students explored the interplay of vibrant colours and delicate line work, developing their understanding of composition, pattern-making and mixed media application. Their creative experimentation resulted in visually striking and finely detailed artworks.

On the second day of the week’s session, students were introduced to the concept of 3D relief portraiture. As an exciting practical exercise, they created a twisted-face portrait inspired by the distinctive artistic approach of Pablo Picasso, using recycled and discarded materials. The activity encouraged students to think beyond traditional drawing and painting techniques while developing their skills in form, texture, structure and creative expression.

The innovative exercises not only enhanced our young students’ technical abilities but also encouraged them to explore experimentation, imagination and sustainable art practices through the creative reuse of materials.

The progress and enthusiasm demonstrated by the students throughout these sessions reflect the effectiveness of hands-on art education in nurturing creativity and building confidence among young artists.

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) successfully conducted another engaging session of its Summer Art Camp 2026, where students explored the fascinating art of pot painting under the guidance of experienced instructor.

During this week's session, students were introduced to the complete process of pot painting. They learned the fundamentals of preparing the pot surface, applying primer and base coats, decorating with creative designs, and sealing the painted surface to ensure a durable and professional finish.

Following the theoretical lessons and practical demonstrations, students enthusiastically painted their own pots using vibrant acrylic colours and a variety of artistic patterns. Their creativity, imagination, and growing confidence were reflected in the beautiful and colourful art pieces they produced.

The activity not only enhanced the students' artistic abilities but also helped them develop fine motor skills, colour harmony, design sense, and creative expression through hands-on learning.

Parents and students have highly appreciated the dedication and teaching methodology of the PNCA instructor, whose professional guidance is enabling young participants to acquire valuable artistic skills while nurturing their creativity in an enjoyable learning environment.

🎨 A day of colour, creativity, and tradition at PNCA!

Our Introductory Tie & Dye Workshop brought together participants to explore the timeless art of resist dyeing through hands-on experimentation. From learning the fundamentals to creating beautiful hand-dyed scarves, tote bags, and bandanas, everyone left with a one-of-a-kind piece and a new creative skill.

A special highlight of the workshop was learning a unique Chunri technique, guided by textile designer Malkiat Zawar, Founder of Meemsheen Studio ✨️

PNCA Summer Art Camp 2026

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) proudly highlights another exciting milestone of its Summer Art Camp 2026, where students of our (Sr Group Drawing & Painting Classes) enthusiastically explored the vibrant world of fabric painting.

Under the expert guidance of the art instructor Ms. Zara Khan, participants learned various fabric painting techniques and transformed everyday items into beautiful works of art.

Using vibrant colours, the students creatively painted shirts, T-shirts, stoles, sacrfs, pillow covers, handbags, and many other fabric items, demonstrating remarkable imagination and artistic skill.

The activity not only introduced students to a practical and enjoyable art form but also encouraged self-expression, creativity, and confidence. The outstanding quality of the artwork produced by the young artists reflects their dedication and the effective guidance provided during the sessions.

Parents expressed great appreciation for the instructor's efforts, applauding the professional training that has helped nurture their children's artistic abilities and transform them into confident, skilful young artists.
