The Department of History, the heritage of Jamia Abbasia, was founded by the Nawab of Bahawalpur , Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi-V in 1925. In the beginning , the department focused on Islamic History. With the establishment of the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) in 1975, the department broadened its scope to General History. The department has the honor to have patronage of renowned scholars and

historians like Sahibzada Abur Rasool, Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Abbasi, Prof. Munawar Ali Khan Dr. Muhammad Saleem Ahmad ( Professor Emeritus) and Dr. Shahid Hassan Rizvi. The department was renamed as the Department of History and Pakistan Studies in 1986 and resumed its nomeclature in 2012. program in 1989 and a separate Master Degree program in Pakistan Studies in 2002. M.Phil Program in History and Pakistan Studies were started in 2003 and 2004, respectively. Initiation of Masters in Archeology is on the agenda of the department, keeping in the view the importance of archeological sites of the region. The department organizes different type of academic activities efficiently including research tutorials, Seminars and National and International Conferences. Furthermore, another projects in the pipeline is the establishment of the institution of History and culture. The department in order to preliterate research activities on scientific research lines, is keen to develop a well- equipped, Multi- media & IT lab with latest equipment.

Executive Training Center of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur warmly WELCOME New Students at IUB!

STUDY SKILLS CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING (SSCBT) is designed to enhance study skills among newly admitted students i.e., soft skills, presentation skills, communication skills, civic education and pedagogy skills and get them (newly admitted students) familiar with university environment, IUB rules and regulation, workplace laws and health and safety.

Note: Study Skills Capacity Building Training is flagship program of the Executive Training Center (ETC) approved by the syndicate and academic council. SSCBT for Spring 2022 is planned from March 14 to April 08, 2022 at all campuses of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
