Happy Pride month 🌈

𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐆𝐀𝐖𝐀 𝐒𝐀 𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐀 𝐏𝐀𝐏𝐄𝐑, '𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍' 𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐒𝐓

Nagkaroon muli ng bagong produkto ang abaca sa lalawigan ng Catanduanes, nang isapubliko ng isang Catandunganon artist ang patok na pamormang 'bucket hat' na gawa sa abaca paper.

Ang nasa likod ng inobasyong ito ay si Francesca Bernadine Tabian, na naglalayon din na matulungan ang mga abaca farmer at maiangat pa ang industriya ng abaca sa lalawigan.

Ayon kay Tabian, bukod sa pagiging pamorma ng naturang produkto, itinuturing din itong sustainable at eco-friendly product, dahil bukod sa napapanatili nito ang paggamit ng organikong produkto at nakatutulong sa hanapbuhay ng mga abacalero sa lalawigan ay nababawasan din aniya nito ang mga abaca fiber waste.

Dagdag pa ng Catandunganon artist, hindi lamang aniya ito proteksyon mula sa init ng araw kundi pati na rin sa ulan, dahil ang abaca paper ay natural na water-repellent.

Ito ay mabibili sa pamamagitan ng kanilang opisyal na page na 'Abacá Finest' at sa darating na panahon ay mabibili na rin ito sa mga kilalang online shopping platforms sa bansa.

Para kay Francesca, ang abaca bucket hat ay hindi lamang simpleng sumbrero kundi testamento rin ng maayos na ugnayan ng fashion, sustainability at pagtulong sa komunidad.

Big thanks to JCI Catanduanes , DRUNK BOX PH , and beach resort for giving us the chance to be part of the Rave Party for a Cause!
Our henna tattoos and face paint brought color to the night. A small act, but one that supports a bigger cause for the artists behind every brushstroke.

Grateful to have my co-founder, Albee Ann Serevo, here in Catanduanes for a well-deserved vacation! Abacá Finest wouldn't be what it is today without her. During the height of the pandemic, she led the way in marketing our products in Pasig (NCR), which is why our original registration was based there.

Now that we've successfully introduced abacá products—especially abacá paper as a canvas for artists—we’ve decided to bring it back home. We're currently registering here in Catanduanes under a new name that aligns with DTI standards: Abacá Finura—still true to the meaning of "abacá finest."

We believe that the love for local must begin here—artists in Catanduanes should be the first to embrace and champion our very own.

In another photo, we’re with our dedicated abacá paper makers , Reo Floi Rojas Teaño , Floro T. Teaño whose efforts and craftsmanship are deeply appreciated—they are a vital part of our journey. Also with us is Ms. Teen Catanduanes, Sharina Tariman who shares the same mission of promoting abacá products and proudly supporting local innovations in our island.

We at Abacá Finest are honored to have collaborated with JCI Catanduanes for their Talas Eskwela Talino at Galing project at Batag Elementary School! Sharing smiles and colors through our face painting activity was a joy, and seeing the kids light up reminded us why we believe in the power of art as healing. Grateful to be part of this meaningful initiative that uplifts both minds and hearts.

This project exemplifies the commitment of JCI Catanduanes to improve education and well-being in the community while fostering connections among various organizations.
