The Pagdurungkala was successfully held on July 2, 2026, at Harimuyngan nga Padapunan, Brgy. San Julian, Tapaz, Capiz, bringing together the 28 Padara (Tribal Leaders), the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and other stakeholders for the selection of the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) to the Sangguniang Bayan of Tapaz, Capiz.
The gathering showcased the unity, wisdom, and collective decision-making traditions of the Panay Bukidnon Indigenous Cultural Communities. The program featured the Prayer, National Anthem, Opening Message, Roll Call of Padara, Casting of Community Decisions, Verification of Resolutions and Signatories, Affirmation of the Selected IPMR, and the Closing Message.
More than a selection process, the Pagdurungkala stands as a celebration of Indigenous identity, leadership, and self-determinationโstrengthening the voices of Indigenous Peoples and reaffirming their vital role in local governance while preserving their rich culture, customs, and traditions for future generations.
