Drawing by Joseph Duyan Bagong Kabataan

Joseph R. Duyan, a Filipino artist from Manila, stands out as a passionate creator and advocate of art that reflects Filipino culture and values. Known as the ART JAM Manila Ambassador and Exhibition Organizer, Duyan blends his artistic talent with his mission to inspire others through creativity. Beyond the canvas, he is also a writer and columnist for Pilipino Star Ngayon under the columns Bagong Kabataan Ngayon and Dr. Love, where he shares stories that touch both heart and mind.

A teacher by profession, Duyan serves as SHS staff and NSTP professor at Adamson University, where he continues to shape young minds not only in academics but also in character and creativity. Deeply involved in the Family Life Ministry and Couples for Christ Community, he channels his faith and advocacy into his art.

His works, rendered in realistic and semi-realistic styles, often depict the warmth, struggles, and spirit of Filipino life. In an era dominated by commercialization and competition, Duyan’s paintings stand as a gentle reminder of human dignity, cultural pride, and the power of creative self-expression—true to his calling as both an art missionary and a youth mentor.
