The NHCP joins Christians in our country in observing Maundy Thursday which commemorates the last night before Jesus Christ was crucified.

This day has been codified as a public holiday since 1 February 1902 through Act No. 345 by the Philippine Commission. Its status has been retained by the Administrative Code of 1987 (Executive Order No. 292, 25 July 1987).

Our Central Office in Manila and History Museums throughout the country are closed. Regular operations of museums resume on Easter Sunday, 5 April 2026.
