ABOUT THE ARTIST
FEDERICO FUA SIEVERT
b) Tacloban City 21 March 1961. d) 7 May 2021
He was the son of Salvador Sievert and Victoria Fua. Married to Grace de Jesus and had a son named Gabriel. He graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Universtiy of Santo Tomas (UST) in 1983.

While still a student, he won the gold medal in the Art Association of the Philippines (AAP) Annual Art Competition in 1982. He was active with the Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP), and was a member of Artista ng Bayan (ABAY). He was one of the members of Sanggawá, the popular collaborative group of artists in the late 90’s.

He had four solo exhibits and had exhibited extensively with the group in Australia, Denmark, Japan and the USA. He was a second generation social realist. He had done powerful paintings, mostly of a symbolic character, dealing with sociopolitical issues. Aside from doing painting, he had also worked in popular forms, such as posters, and illustrations.
(With excerpts from Alice Guillermo, Encyclopedia of Philippine Art)

In 2005, he surrendered his life to Christ and since then, his paintings focused on family and his faith.

In December 2012 he became a full time pastor. In August, 2015 he became the head pastor (co-founder) of The Harvest Gospel Church until his death on May 7, 2021. He is survived by his wife Grace and only son Gabriel.
