A REVIVAL OF THE PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE MARCH

While all PAF personnel are very familiar with the PAF Hymn, only the more senior members of the organization may still recall the PAF March—much less remember its words. This has prompted efforts to revive and preserve this important part of the Philippine Air Force’s musical heritage.

The Philippine Air Force Song or March is a song inspired by independence, mission orientation, and cultural heritage. It was written and composed in 1953 by then CPT LAURO LL ABAÑO PAF (Lyrics) and COL ANTONIO BUENAVENTURA PA (Music).

Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, ating pahalagahan at ipagmalaki ang sariling wika bilang bahagi ng ating pagkakakilanlan at pagkakaisa bilang isang sambayanan.

BASAHIN: BUWAN NG WIKANG PAMBANSA 2026

Ang Office of the Chief Historical and Cultural Activities ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa na may temang: "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon."

Sa pagdiriwang na ito, ating kinikilala ang mahalagang papel ng Wikang Filipino bilang daluyan ng kaalaman, kultura, at pambansang pagkakakilanlan. Kasabay ng patuloy na pag-unlad ng Artificial Intelligence (AI), higit na nagiging mahalaga ang responsableng paggamit ng teknolohiya upang mapalawak ang pananaliksik, mapadali ang pagkalap at paggamit sa impormasyon, at mapanatili ang ating mayamang kasaysayan, kultura at mga pamanang Filipino, dito sa Hukbong Himpapawid ng Pilipinas.

The Nation commemorates the 128th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence Day, marking the nation's declaration of freedom against its colonizer on 12 June 1898, after more than three centuries of Spanish colonial rule. Driven by a desire for sovereignty, Filipino revolutionaries and forefathers fought to establish their own national identity.

On this historic day, Filipino rebels, led by Emilio Aguinaldo, formally proclaimed independence at his residence in Kawit, Cavite. The ceremony was highlighted by the raising of the Philippine flag and playing of the national anthem, symbolizing the birth of an independent Filipino nation.

While the journey to full independence faced subsequent challenges and foreign rule, the day remains to be a celebrated occasion for its symbolism of the Filipino's bravery, courage and resilience. Today, it honors the heroes and citizens whose sacrifices shaped the nation, inspiring future generations to continuously uphold freedom, unity, and patriotism.

NATIONAL FLAG DAYS 2026

The Philippine Air Force joins the whole nation in observance of the National Flag Days as it renders the highest honors to the Philippine Flag - the ultimate symbol of our sovereignty, unity, freedom, and democracy. Your Air Force stands firm in its commitment to duty, service, and unwavering loyalty to the Filipino people and the nation.

The National Flag Days in the Philippines began in 1965 through Proclamation No. 374, which declared May 28 as National Flag Day to commemorate the first unfurling of the Philippine flag after the Battle of Alapan in Cavite on 28 May 1898. Through Executive Order No. 179 in 1994, it was expanded to cover the period from May 28 to June 12, ending with the Philippine Independence Day celebrations. In 1998, the observance was formally institutionalized through Republic Act No. 8491 or the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, which established the annual National Flag Days celebration.

Ang Office of the Chief Historical and Cultural Activities ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng ika-84 na Araw ng Kagitingan na may temang “Giting ng Bayani, Pamana sa Salinlahi”. Patuloy nating pinahahalagahan ang kanilang iniwang halimbawa, isang inspirasyon upang ang bawat Pilipino ay maging matatag, makabayan, at handang maglingkod sa bayan. Ang kanilang giting ay hindi lamang bahagi ng ating kasaysayan, kundi isang buhay na pamana sa susunod na henerasyon.
