Meet the women changing the art scene in Quezon Province!

Before ends, we’re shining the spotlight on 12 women artists and creators who are bred, rooted, and thriving in Quezon.

Introducing : Spotlight on Quezon’s Women Artists — a celebration of emerging women artists who are shaping their community’s cultural identity through art and self-expression.

From painters to tattoo artists, and musicians to photographers, their works delve into questions of who they are, where they come from, and the communities that nurture them. In a scene long dominated by men and the older generation, these women are staking their claim and enriching the arts with perspectives as diverse as their mediums.

March is Women’s Month -- but where are the women in art? 🎨

Women artists create, innovate, and shape culture, yet they remain underrepresented in museums, galleries, and art history. In the Philippines, not a single woman has been named National Artist in visual arts. Globally, women’s artworks make up just a fraction of museum collections and auction sales. And beyond exclusion, many women in the art world face gender-based violence, discrimination, and systemic barriers to success.

It’s time to change the narrative. Women artists belong—not as afterthoughts, but as leaders, storytellers, and forces in art.
