REIMAGINING NAGA’S UNIVERSITY BELT: WALKABLE, SAFE, AND PEOPLE-CENTERED

For Naga City and across the region, university districts should prioritize people—not vehicles. Safe at-grade crossings, wider sidewalks, cycling lanes, shade, and connected streets can make our university belt safer, more accessible, and more vibrant.

Our students deserve streets that invite them to walk, learn, and connect—not climb over traffic.

A UNIVERSITY STREET SHOULD BE WALKABLE, NOT CLIMBABLE

Angeles University Foundation is home to thousands of students and staff every day. Footbridges are the only option available for pedestrians who want to cross one of the many roads that run adjacent to schools, businesses, and other daily locations.

This design concept provides safe crossings at grade level, dedicated cycling lanes, wider sidewalks, and a continuous canopy of trees to provide a comfortable design that prioritizes pedestrians.

A university district should promote walking, learning and community engagement rather than forcing people to jump (literally) over traffic.

Do university streets not deserve to prioritize safe, street-level crossings and walkability over foot bridges and a sea of vehicles?

#𝐢𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 🙋‍♂️🙋🏼‍♀️ We value your participation in the crafting of this proposed ordinance on the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creative, artistic, and heritage projects of the City of Naga. 🤖🎨

👉 Highlights:

The proposed ordinance pushes for the crafting of a regulatory framework for the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the creative and cultural projects funded by the local government.

The objective is to ensure innovation that will not affect the moral and economic rights of local artists, cultural workers,
and heritage advocates

The ordinance emphasizes the primacy of human creativity. AI should not be used as a cost-cutting substitute to avoid fair compensation for human creators.

The proposed ordinance pushes for transparency in the disclosure of the use of AI tools, emphasizes the need for human creative oversight, calls for the technical review of experts, and highlights vigilance against misrepresentations of Bikol culture.
