Snapshots at the opening of the exhibit " Glimmers & Series" by Bernadette De Leon
______

Bernadette A. de Leon, known as Bernie both as an artist and to her friends, is proof that it is never too late to pursue your creative aspirations and become an artist. She is a late bloomer and in pursuit of this passion, she began to attend art workshops at Eshi Shack Art Cafe in 2017 when the pandemic struck, she has since honed her ability as a painter.

She is now a Sunday Abstract painter, using palette knives with acrylic as her primary medium, as well as occasionally incorporating oil pastel and acrylic ink in her artworks.

Despite her relatively recent entry into visual arts, Bernie is no newcomer to the creative world. Bernie has been a musician throughout her life - she was a former member of the world- renowned, Philippine Madrigal Singers studied piano since she was 3 1/2 yrs old, has led several choirs, and hosted successful concerts here and abroad. Her choirs have won national competitions and have performed overseas, most notably for Pope John Paul lI in the Vatican in 2001.
