𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭-𝟳

Elderly Filipino Week (Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino) is celebrated nationwide from October 1 to 7 based on Proclamation No. 470 s. 1994.

Spearheaded by the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and local government units, this year’s theme is "Nakatatandang Pilipino: May Halaga at Karapatan, May Boses at Ambag sa Bayan".

The annual observance honors the vital role of senior citizens to nation-building, while promoting their rights, health, and overall well-being.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐲. Established by UNESCO in 1994, this day was created to appreciate educators and to remember the historic agreement that set international standards for educators' rights, working conditions, and professional development.

October 5, 2026 marks the 𝟔𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟗𝟔𝟔 𝐈𝐋𝐎/𝐔𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐎 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

In the Philippines, National Teachers’ Month is observed from September 5 to October 5, aligning with the global festivities.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1906 s. 2009, the month of October is declared as National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month in recognition of the rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs)/IPs.

The celebration will be highlighted by 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘄 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the flagship program of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts – Sub commission on Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts (NCCA-SCCTA).

This year the Dayaw 2026 banners the theme “𝓟𝓪𝓰𝓴𝓪𝓶𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓷 𝓷𝓰 𝓚𝓪𝓽𝓾𝓽𝓾𝓫𝓸𝓷𝓰 𝓕𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓹𝓲𝓷𝓸: 𝓟𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓰𝓽𝓲𝓫𝓪𝔂 𝓷𝓰 𝓶𝓰𝓪 𝓟𝓪𝓰𝓼𝓾𝓫𝓸𝓴, 𝓤𝓶𝓪𝓪𝓪𝓵𝓪𝓫 𝓪𝓷𝓰 𝓑𝓪𝓰𝓸𝓷𝓰 𝓟𝓪𝓰-𝓐𝓼𝓪.”

The month of October is observed Museum and Galleries Month (MGM) by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 798, s. 1991 that aims to celebrate the country's rich cultural heritage and national identity.

Organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), this year’s theme is “𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴, 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸.”

Support MGM by visiting local museums and galleries, endorse local artists and organize community events.

𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡

The Quezon Provincial Library joins the nation in the celebration of the 𝟑𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 this October established under Presidential Proclamation No. 647 s. 1990. This aims to promote awareness and appreciation of the value of statistics across all societal sectors and elicit public support to upgrade the quality and standard of national statistics.

Spearheaded by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), this year’s theme is “Tuklas Pilipinas: Statistics as Beacon Towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism.”

Bilang pakikiisa ng Quezon Provincial Library sa pagdiriwang ng International Day of Sign Languages at International Week of the Deaf, tunghayan natin ang kuwentong "SAYAW NG MGA KAMAY" na isinulat ni Joanna Que at iginuhit ni Franz Alvarez.
Kilalanin natin ang dalawang magkaibigan na bagamat hindi nag-uusap sa pamamagitan ng boses ay lubos na nagkakaunawaan. Sa kuwentong ito, ating matututuhan na ang komunikasyon ay hindi lamang nagmumula sa pananalita—ito ay nakikita rin sa kumpas, ekspresyon, at ganda ng Sign Language. Isang paalala na ang bawat kamay ay may kakayahang magsalita at magpahayag ng pagmamahal.
